i am running a 3 shaman team, lvl 62 now. what ive been noticing since we started outlands is that when me and my dual box partner(pally and lock) are instancing, my damage and dps are off by some noticeable numbers. the dps is only off by ~20dps per guy, so 1 is doing 460 the next is at 450 and the last is at 420 for example. however there damage done is way off. the one that i control is top of the meters(ill use slavepens as an example) with 512k damage done. the next guy is only 450k, and the last one is at 365k.

what is going on? my macros just have them /assist the one i conrtrol and i spam lightning bolt and chain lightning. they all have the same buffs etc etc. the only difference is spell damage and crit, the one i control has 340 damage and 19% unbuffed crit, the next is at 320 and 18%, and the last(and poorest dpser) is at 330 with friggen 21% unbuffed crit X( . what the hell is going on? is it lag between keyclone sending the key presses?

the only other thing i can think of is maybe lightning overload is proccing way more for some than the others, is this normal? will it fix itself later on in game? or are my macros funky? plz help, i dont wanna go into kz with one guy @ 800dps and the other two at 600 or less dps.

note: i listed their damage/crit % according to whom i control, followed by the second highest dpser, then the lowest dpser

G'morning,

what you didn't note was the gear you have on your characters. i don't know about anyone else, but as my groups advance, my main usually gets the good stuff first... i do this hoping he'll live longer (i should make him last... as he'd probably aggro less... *shrug*)

anyhow, check your gear and specs and see if it's EXACTLY the same across all characters.

and no, key passing has zero to do with numbers produced by blizzard on server side...
unless they give a higher chance to crit to the first attacker...

This is normal. My 5-box dmg meters usually look like this (forgive the ASCII graph):

Me #############
#2 #############
#3 ############
#4 ###########
#5 #########

This is primarily because when the monster dies, the last person in the "cast sequence" doesn't land a hit. So your main always scores a hit and most of the killing blows and your alts just fizzle because the mob is already toast. This is especially noticeable when you have mobs that you can almost one-shot.

Also keep in mind Lightning Shield.

Edit: Scratch that..I should have read more carefully.

ok then, i guess ill just have to tell my guildies to look at just the boss dps when they give me shit for it because there seems to be less of a difference lol. thx for the help. and also all my gear pieces are from the outlands quests all of them are almost exactly identical with the exception of the one i control, he has the blade of trapped knowledge that i snagged for 8g on AH wewt!!
