View Full Version : Problems in the early BGs with my 5 huntard team :/

So, I hate WSG...yeah. My plan is to do 1 game of that each day to get my marks, and take my loss while doing my best to hamper the bad guys (horde in this case). But thats not the real problem.
During my AB games, I'll run off to take a node, and many times 10/15 horde people come to stop me. Problem? not really, it's leaving the nodes undefended for the rest of my team.
The problem? 7/15 of my team is FOLLOWING ME just to watch me take out masses of people instead of TAKING THE UNDEFENDED NODES!!!!
/bg QUIT FOLLOWING ME, AND TAKE THE LM/BS/MINE!!
isn't working :cursing:
Quotes from my "friends" on the alliance side (I shoulda rolled orcs):
"dude that was sweet! too bad we all died"
"You're the reason we're losing!!!"
(Priest - While standing in place as 10 people are beating on me) "how do you control all 5?"

(Priest - While standing in place as 10 people are beating on me) "how do you control all 5?"I can assure you it's no better horde side. EOTS and AV are the only one that I can get away with continually moving and the posse following me. AB is nearly always a loss for the same reasons. As someone who's boxed at 70 both sides, it's equally as bad. You're either the hero or the reason you lose. I just have come to my standard response now "It's called multiboxing, google it or wowwiki it, but I do not have time to explain as I'm playing the game." I take my mark, or 3 and move on.
I'm lucky tho that there's a fellow 5 boxer on my side and we sometimes premade BG together or I run with guildies as much as I can, but when I'm pugging, it's frustration and beratement most of the time, to be frank.
In one out of five games I'd say I encounter someone on their mount watching me fight - I still have fun and try to kill as many allies as possible :)

I'm runing around doing lots of BGs now days with my new 4x 70lvl elly team. And i got the same problem.. Well i figured that in EOTS i could just run in a sircle, killing all hords on next base stay there till i was gray and then move, that way it will normaly get taken and some allies will stay back as they are in combat etc.. And in AV last night when me and my other 4x shammy friend was playing 2x4x shammys in the same AV, we was holding like 30 hords back at around belinda for like 15-20 mins and ppl stoped playing and was just watching us nukeing the crap out of the hords and they was whining like hell on the /BG..
Its a bit funny, as if there is a bot in the BG they will get mad as it is not helping out wining in any way and taking up spots.. same with the cave leachers... But when we come in with our 8 shammys and get the most killing blowes and fight on the first line they all stop and basicly start leaching off us while complaining about it... Its so deam stupid.
"You're the reason we're losing!!!"
That sounds familiar :')
I think I might just turn off chat (put the damage tab active) while doing battlegrounds so I don't get upset by all the nonsense messages.

People follow you to see something cool, so I take that away from them. If I get a pew-pew-paparazzi, I simply tell them. "If you're going to follow me, then you're going to watch me sit on defense at this node. You're not helping us win by following me around".
I'd say that works about 60% of the time. I also follow that up by reporting them as AFK on 3-4 characters so that they have to go move and fight something...
There's a couple of things that you can do to prevent people acting annoying towards you:
The friendly approach
Pass battleground intelligence on to others (movement of enemy players, efc locations, etc) and ask for the intel. Most people will notice that you're a team player and they will be less inclined to act ignorant towards you.
The ignorant approach
Respond with an even more ignorant reply. If someone is trying to blame you then just blame instead. For instance, if someone is complaining about people not defending the AB flags, then order him to go defend one of the undefended flags (farm or stables will usually do). Of course they won't accept orders from you and the undefended flag will fall, giving you an unjustified chance to blame them for the loss.
The really nasty approach
Place a raid icon above the player that is complaining. You'll notice that they'll stop complaining about you, but they'll start complaining about the icon. Either tell them that you'll remove the icon when they stop complaining or be even more ignorant and replace it with another icon and ask them if which of the icons they like better.
The first option is usually all that you need, but some people are really asking for it...

Thats...kinda awsome in a bad way :P
Can you write a macro to report your main's target afk x5? Oh man that would be sweet.

How many AFK reports need to be sent before they are marked AFK?
The macro would kick ass. Funny if it worked in raids. You get piss at your kara group and have your 5 toons report the other 5 lol too funny.

I can't remember who wrote about it :S so sorry if I'm stealing someone's strategy here. The Idea (especially with lower lvl BGs) is to rush through to Stables/farm (I know, I usually hate ppl that take stables at the start too :P- but with mboxing you need a different approach to everything) and cap it.. if you have one or two ppl follow you even better to some extent (as you have no healing :S)
So if your are horde for instance.. GY.. rush to LM then onward straight away after you take everything out to stables.
Whilst the rest of your team is busy killing the opposing team, half of the enemies are likely to res at their GY not stables/farm.. you now begin pushing them back, whilst the rest of your team play catchup and take the rest of the nodes. Just make sure you really put the pressure on, and go absolutely ape doing as much damage as you possibly can. The idea here is to give your team enough time to cap nodes and move forward.
Best idea would be to ask a healer or two to help you.. although be sure to take some enemies out on the way to stables/farm as you don't want them to go around you completely.
I haven't been able to try it out myself yet (as I'm doing BGs exclusively when i hit lvl 59), but supposedly it works rather well. especially when ppl see you killing like crazy. they just want to move on up :)
EDIT: a shaman team should perform remarkably well here. the combination of 4/5 shammies +a healer, healing whilst you dps your heart out is insane.. Siege cannon anyone? this combination should easaly handle a constant stream of enemies, even if there are several at a time, simply because they die before they can do anything.
Even if you only take out 3-4 on your way to the stables it should prove successful. the rest of your team are bound to kill some others before the opposition takes their first node, so you should expect roughly half the enemy players to be rezzing at the GY. at this point you just need to keep the pressure on and not allow them to make any headway.
They will also try to recap their lost node, so you should see just around half if not a bit over, returning to the GY/initial node, and thus to their deaths :P

I noticed a big difference if I try to go unnoticed in the lower level bgs.I head to the gate in AB and hide under the people waiting. As I get higher in level I see less people interested in my actions.

How to go unnoticed?
5x NE hunters + 5x cloaked cats = win
That would be funny cap a nood and just cloak. Like to see the face of the person when 5 pets and 5 hunters gun him down... lol. too bad only will work once per bg.
pew-pew-paparazzi
I like that one. Going to have to start using that term now :-D.
