OMFG!
I started my 5 shaman team a while back now, and there have been a few bumps along the way and the odd break or 3 but yesterday I hit Outlands. After doing the standard entry level quest and gearing up ready to run Ramparts (for the 1 billionth time on the 1 billionth character). After failing miserably on my first couple of runs I decided to take drop one of the girls and take my Pally (70 Prot.) along.
So my group was 4xShaman (ele) + Pally. After a successful but slow run I decided for shit-and-giggles to take my level 70 Shaman instead of my paly. I did a quick respec from Resto to Ele and bought some shitty gear off the AH. After maxing out +dmg at a massive 300~ (yes sad I know) and potting up to the eye balls I thought to myself what the hell - I know where the GY is :)
38 minutes later I was wiping on the last boss. Grounding totems, I forgot the bloody grounding totems - DOH! So after recomposing myself and getting more coffee I was ready for another attempt. Grounding totems = easy mode! This guy went down quicker than a second cousing at a hill billy shindig.
Even though the 70 Shaman was woefully geared (all of it bought from the AH 45 minutes earlier) I was able to blitz throught Ramps faster than when I had my Prot Pally. So far my fastest run through Ramparts with the all Shaman burn-o-matic team is 31 minutes (walk in - walk out - reset).
I'm still amazed at just how quickly an all DPS team can blast through an instance. I had my doubts as to the viability of an all Shaman team but after doing this I'm happy to take on the world!
