So there I was in OfficeDepot last night, somewhat bored and wasting time till the theater next door got around to seating people for the movie I was there to see. When wandering around the PC section I come across the HP TouchSmart PC and start playing solitaire on it, using the touch interface on the screen, its fairly reactive to clicks (not so good on drags, but I have a feeling the sensitivity had been turned down on it).

Anyway the reason I am mentioning this on my way outa the store and to the theater i get struck with the sudden idea that would be a really great way to play extra charachters screens. Using keyclone's maximizer, or Wineq2 or whatever software you want (or just an alts screen) with a decent toolbar mod and some well written unbound macros, heals or 1 shot spells etc are just reach up and touch the UI to use it. Seemed like fun.

The secondary thought came to me while watching the movie, if you had smaller Touchscreens, and where running them on multipul machines, you could desktop span from the regular screen to the small one, then using something like CT viewport to limit the viewable area to you main monitor you could put your toolbars etc on a touch screen to use as a keypad.

Ya but this was 19"widescreen with the PC for 1100, which really isn't that much more expensive then buying a dual core machine with 2 or 3gb of ram anyway. The difference for me was that there was a whole PC involved in the price just just a ultra expensive monitor hehe

Ya, I saw that one, I like the idea of putting the UI directly on the screen to touch though. I was thinking of buying a new PC anyway to run "the clones" on so I can sorta legitimize the price in my head... if i get that much extra cash laying around. I was just more looking to see what people thought of the idea, or other peoples ideas for implamentation.

It seems to me that to use a touch screen system it would have to be on a seperate machine. In other words you couldn't use 1 monitor 1 touch screen on 1 computer. The reason for this is where the "Focus" is. For example, I run a 2 monitor 1 computer system and to click on the action buttons on my alt screens I have to move my mouse to that screen so that it is the "Focus". I'm not sure the screens work but would simply touching an alt screen be the same as instantly moving the mouse over there?

Another thought is that my monitors are placed a good distance away from me (I use 22 inch monitors) so it would be a pain for me to reach out and touch one (dirty).

Interesting thought thought that deserves more research
