Hi guys,
I want to power up my Performance and I can't get the right Grafixcard.
Which to choose is a difficult thing. I wanted to Spent about 125-140€ (sorry don't know the comparison to $)
I'll get a Q6600 3GB Ram (cause of XP)
Now I I'm in between 3 Cards:
xFx 8500GT 1024 MB ('XFX%20GeForce%208500GT%20450M,%201024MB%20DDR2,% 20PCI-Express%20') 65 (I guess this one isn't good,ad is only getting my attention cuase of the 1GB I guess )
xFx 9600GT 512 MB (DDR3) ('http://www2.atelco.de/articledetail.jsp?aid=21731&agid=554') 139€
MSI 9600GT 512 MB (DDR3) ('http://www2.atelco.de/articledetail.jsp?aid=21417&agid=554&adp=7') 139€
So I guess... 1 of the 2 9600GT will make it? Which one? could you help me pls? I guess the xFx with 740MHz against the 700Mhz, or do I miss something?
(sorry links are in german)

dont get the 8500, i thought the same thing when i saw the 1gig on it but it sucks! i returned that thing the next day and paid 50 more bucks (US) and got a 8800 gt and it's great. Dunno about the 9600 but they are close to the same price, i was talking to someone on irc the other day and he put it like this...
The 8800 is like a 40 year old woman, you know she will know how to please you because she's experienced and knows how to make you happy...
The 9600 is like a 20 year old, it may be as good as the 8800 but we dont really know yet, cause it hasen't been as heavily tested...
So i went with the 8800 and never looked back...
Morale of the story is 40 year old milf > 20 year old noob in the sack

Generally speaking, 8800GT > 9600GT.

Hm the ones I found (8800GT) Had less GPU MHz and Memory MHz than my xFx , and also most of them weren't DX10 able, ok I'm currntly Running XP but I will upgrade as soon as possible. More ram possibilities ;)
Ok I found 2, but I don't wanna spend more than 140€ ;) they were 15€ more ;)
So maybe the the 20 years old b*tch won this round?

Check a site like Tom's Hardware to compare the speeds of different cards before you buy one. They have a chart where you can see real world performance between many models.

As a general rule of thumb, you want to buy the X800 (ie. 8800,9800) and X900 for gaming. X500 (ie. 8500) and X600 are NOT meant for gaming. This is for nVidia cards.

Was looking around this morning when i got home from work and found this,
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3680414&Sku=E145-8838
EVGA GeForce 8800 GT Video Card - 1GB DDR3, PCI Express 2.0, SLI Ready, (Dual Link) Dual DVI, HDTV
If you convert the dollers to euros its roughly what you wanted to pay for it, The 1 gb ddr3 caught my eye because its the first 8800 that ive seen with them specs
If anyone knows anything let us know im building a second box atm and i might throw this in if its anygood
