Error 203 - can't create my last trial account

So I finally got my pc fixed up and running, and I went and bought 4 x battle chests.

Did the 4 x refer-a-friend feature. Got my 4 keys. Made 3 trial accounts successfully. Upgraded them. Got credit on my main account.

The last one could not be created. At the page that's suppose to say "Account Created! - Print This!" I get an "Error 203, failed to create new account - contact Blizzard at so and so email or phone them at so and so". I have tried everything listed on the forums here on the topic. Changed my email address, changed my browser, changed my pc, changed to a pc in the mall. Same error. I believe some part of my information or the is "banned" from creating more accounts, and I can no longer make a new one until perhaps my 10 day trial period ends with the first 3.

I have read that people have got it working by just creating a regular account without the refer-a-friend. However start up costs are pretty big as you all know, and I would rather suffer with only 4 toons than pay an extra $15 just to play all 5 at once.

My question to you fellas is whether it is possible to create a trial account in this "refer-a-friend" manner through a phone service or perhaps using an email with the guys at billing. Has anyone tried phoning the people there using the number they give you. Is it worth a shot? Or should I just accept defeat and start leveling 4 toons for now?

Haha had the same thing, Guess it's an Emergency thing against bot abusment and some stuff, your IP is blocked for it a few hour/days or something ;) was on my 4th account I wanted to create with^^

Yeah they blocked your IP or something for a bit. I logged into my works VPN to make my last account... :)

You might just contact Blizzard.

Had the same thing, Contacted blizzard and they said i used all my recruit a friend slots for that account. So i just typed in the wow cd key and got it all working.

If you have cable turn off your modem for an hour or so, dsl just test your connection, after that you should be fine. If neither work I'll tell you the advanced way to do it.

I was able to make my 5th account today using the refer-a-friend key.

I am not sure what solved the problem, so I don't know the exact cause of it for future reference. It might have been the server maintenance reseting all the cache in their servers. It might have been the fact that I waited almost 24 hours before trying it again. It might have been because I did it a friend's house using his email address. It worked and I am pretty excited to finally get started.

Always be careful creating accounts with information that is not yours. You should never put a fake name or contact information, though it sounds like all you faked was the email address. You might be able to get away with a different email address since one person could legitimately have more than one email address.
