So I have taken up the habit that many here have shared with me. I now camp the various WoW Official Forums looking for chances to defend the honor of multiboxing. I ran across this thread ('http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=6760109150'). Now, we're not botters - we're HACKERS. I think I preferred being called a botter better. Well, maybe not. But you know what I mean...

The OP backed off the 'HACKERS ZOMG' nonsense immediately, and then went back to the 'botting' nonsense. Belfaire took care of that one pretty quickly.

Botting. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Golden. More from Belfaire.

He's still in direct control of each account.

Even more golden. And later...

The software can't control the characters. He has to press a button. If you want to get into semantics, you're not controlling the character, your keyboard is.

ZOMG!!!!111!! Exactly what we say. Will people take it seriously now that a blue spells it out? The OP says:

If they were winning the arena tournament you wouldn't be saying this, they would get banned, because letting people do this in an es-port is laughable and any other serious game would have banned them long ago.

Damn. Well, I can dream, can't I? Oh, and notice the old myth rearing its ugly head again - he's assuming that MBing is a new trend that no one tolerates EVER in the history of gaming.

Oh, and as a side note, the multiboxer in question is Aelli. Of course, in an arena QQ, we would expect that by now.

So the OP from the thread I linked above re-posted his locked thread. The Blues chewed his ass bad ('http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=6760109167').

I just noticed that someone else beat me to it here ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=7699'). Let's let this one die off.

Seems like this is happening a lot. I recently had a post calling me a cheater hit the CS forums, got 3 blue replies and locked before I even saw it :) Blizz seems to be on top of closing these threads before they get out of hand.

I love it!!!

Q u o t e:
"Don't repost locked threads, especially with profanity. Consider your lack of suspension my gift to you."

"Unfortunately, I'm not so forgiving, Saen.

If we believed the practice to be against our Terms of Use we would action accordingly. What I know is a violation of our Code of Conduct is posting regarding a moderated thread. Consider this break the last warning you will likely receive on the matter."

I bet his butt is sore after that one!

HEHEHE.. gotta LOVE GMs backing our butts up :D :D :D
But most people don't have the slightest clue about boxing and how it's done.
That's why they assume we're eiher hacking or botting, so tell them to better educate first, before jumping to conclusions!

My two different styles of replies.

Random: 'How are you doing that?' or 'Are you hacking?'
Me: Explain who/how/where etc

or

Random: 'Lol hacker'
Me: Lol idiot

Yes calling them an idiot won't help much but making accusations without knowledge or evidence to support your claim is idiotic

You can post as many multiboxing QQ threads as you want in the General Forum, but the CS forum moderators are much less patient with stupid people. And there are a lot more multiboxing QQ threads showing up in the CS forum lately, and they're all the same. It's cheating, it's unfair, it's automation, Blizzard allows it because of greed, blah blah blah. There is nothing that hasn't been covered several times just in the thread that Vyndri started, where they answered all of our questions about multiboxing. So they have become less tolerant of seeing the same thing again and again.

And that's fine, it helps to give the Q&A thread more visits from people curious about multiboxing, and it continues to show that Blizzard is adamant about their support for multiboxing. People posting in those threads keep claiming that "more and more people will see that it's wrong" but it's the opposite effect-- more and more people see Blizzard taking and maintaining a firm stance on the issue.
