To be clear, this wasn't my idea... I agree with it and thought it should be in it's own thread.

IMO, we're approaching a point where we need to add forums or posting areas. I assume most folks are familiar with EJ (Elitist Jerks) and the way they've sub-divided into several discrete topics, which seems to work well. Want number-crunching? Head to Theorycraft. Class question? Go to Class Mechanics. And so on.

I think we have enough posters/lurkers to support some or all of the following areas:
PvP Instance Encounters Group Makeup
Obviously, there could be others or other ways to phrase these general ideas. (Feel free to add to/modify this list, btw)

It's not uncommon for this to happen in an online community, we just have to adapt accordingly.

PvP - Arena and BGs
Instance Encounters
Group Makeup and Specific Class Discussions (don't know if this should be split into 2 or not)

I wholeheartedly agree with the brilliant individual you cited in your post.

I like the first two. I'm not so sure about "group makeup". Seems kinda vague. Would the typical newbie "can I box pally + rogue + mage + hunter + priest" question go there or in the beginner's forum? Would shaman or pally questions go there?

I do really like the idea of instance and PvP forums though.

I wish they could make it so ppl who have less than 3-5 post can only see/post in the new boxer sub-forum

That *might* seem like a good idea, but I don't think it is.

Here's an example: My "new" Setup and Hai. ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&postID=68136')

Goat only has 3 posts... but got his system up, and level 60 with his 5-toon group.

This would also encourage some people to just post some random bullcrap (more trash threads) to get their postings up just so that they can post at the other sub-forums.

Another option (for simplicity and mod sanity sake) is to add one forum entitled "Advanced Tactics" or something like that, mainly targeted at the Vets. Just tossing ideas out...

Yeah, that would be a good one.

So we have: (removed group makeup and class discussions because it would most likely be in the newbies section)

PvP - Arena and BGs
Instance Encounters
Advanced Discussions (or tactics)

I would definitely be interested in a forum where you could start discussing really detailed things, like that Advanced Tactics forum - specific dungeon/boss encounters etc, advanced macroing and more.

Looking at making 2 new locations - PvP - Arenas and BGs sounds good, and then adding one for PvE - instances and advanced tactics? compiling the last two into one.

I just don't think one or the other would really need a section of their own.

Agreed. Maybe someday we'll need both but for now that would be a big improvement.

In a separate subforum-cluster here for multiboxing WoW I can see it happening, less clutter, more theorycrafting and.. I forget the word. Come October or whenever the NDA drops I will beg for a WAR multiboxing forum though.

Both forums have been created in the gaming section :)
