Hi guys, 100% new to this gig and it sounds like alot of fun. Any who, here's my question.

I wanna run two accounts, on one computer/monitor i dont want to have to switch windows, i want to just click on say button one to cast frostbolt, and have the other account follow suit, with no other action apart from 1 click on the main toons' button. i understand that i need to make macros and the such to have the two toons perfom the same actions, ie both cast frostbolt, but my question is this..

Do i need key broadcasting software or can i just make a macro? i have no idea so any tip or guide to being able to do this would be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance guys

There is more than enough stickyposts to explain how to set up the multiboxing!

There are a few ways

The cleanest looking is using keyclone's maximizer function. (Can use the search function for that, many topics explaining about it and tons of way of doing so.)

Basicly, you could make a split screen, horizontally or vertically. (Tho, if you make it vertically, you might encounter some UI problems. Horizontally is probably more practical. With a clean UI (ie. use all keybinds and remove all unnecesary stuff from your ui's with addons that remove/make parts invisible. For example, only the top screen can have a minimap, the one below doesn't have to show it. Using mods like moveanything.)

Then you're pretty set up, really.

So..

-keyclone maximizer function
-clean ui to fit your needs

Keyclone also broadcasts keys for you the way you want too, and you're all set.

hotkeynet also has the same maximiser function, and is another keybroadcasting system. It is very very easy to set up quickly, and can be found here.

http://www.hotkeynet.com/

I would personally recomend it as I was a complete and utter beginner when I started using it and have had nothing but great results since. That and it is free, kek.

Keyclone - fairly easy to setup - check the software section of the forums
Hotkeynet - also fairly easy to setup
AutoHotKey - not hard to setup if you use a prepackaged WoW script from their forums - but be very very careful to avoid *ANY* delay functionality that people might have added into those scripts... even if it seems harmless. There's some info on this in our software forums
Octopus - very nice app, bit more technical setup but very tweakable if you're into that. Check the software forums here for info.

Those are the software options i've tried when running multiple clients on one machine, I am sure there are a few more options out there that haven't been listed.

Anything that is geared more towards One comp multi boxing? those others appear to be be based on multi comps, i'm using only one system for 2 accounts.

keyclone is not just multiple computers.. but also works well (if not better) on one computer... as it allows you to do pip swapping

http://solidice.com/keyclone/pip.html

which allows you, while using keyclone's maximizer, to hit a single key...

http://solidice.com/keyclone/keyclone_v1.8e_pip_1.jpg

and swap one region for another:

As far as I know there is nothing that can do mouse multiplexing in one computer. If you think about it - although it sounds cool, it could get quite messy ;) with multiple arrows/cursors on screen and so on.

If you want to move the mouse to a location in one window, then press a button and have the cursor click that spot in two or more WoW's, HotkeyNet ('http://hotkeynet.com') can do that.
