I use a desktop for my main(windows xp) and a latop with vista 32 for my 3 clones. about every 20-30 mins keyclone (on my laptop) will just freeze i have to cntrl alt del to close it and restart. Ive tried "Run as admin" and ive also went into properties and check the box for win xp compatability mode. ive searched these forums incase this issue was addressed already and couldnt find anything except keyclone wasnt made for vista or something along those lines any suggestions??

Thanks in advance

howdy gizmo,

keyclone works fine for vista.. so that's not your problem. since on vista, you always have to 'run as' admin.. which is different then running a program while logged in as admin (thanks msft). just right-click, run-as admin or set the properties (right-click/ advanced/ always run as administrator)

if you can, please send me the following:

1. your machine specs (cpu, memory, grfx card)
2. your keyclone system-id and email address
3. how many monitors do you have? horizontal span or dual view?

thanks,

Rob

Well I have the exact same issue with KC on my laptop. It's not every 20 mins but it usually happens alot when I'm in flight or in a big city or such, it does however happen at times when I'm sitting in the middle of nowhere with nothing around me as well. I figured it was just due to a poor graphics card on my laptop but I'll post up my specs anyways see what you think KC.

1. Gateway MX8734 Laptop
CPU: Geniuine Intel (R) CPU T2060 @1.60GHz 1.60GHz
Memory: 1014 MB
Display Adapter: Mobile Intel (R) 945GM Express Chipset Family

2. Not entirely sure how to find the keyclone id number, and if you really need my e-mail address I can PM it to you are you can just PM me on here.

3. Just one monitor for my laptop dual horizontal view, or horizontal span 2 windows stacked on top of each other, however you want to think about it :P

Rob, i sent you a PM with my info. looks like theres some other posts about the same problem with keyclone locking up or not responding on Vista machines. Thats whats happening to me. when i mouseover or click on the keyclone window it says (not responding) in the title bar and i have to cntrl alt del or if im in mid fight i have to quickly load another copy and change my port from 1320 to 1321 so i can keep going until the fight is over

I crashed Keyclone last night on my laptop by reducing the values for maxfpsbk and maxfps. I was trying to increase my performance on the main window.

I changed my values from 15 and 20 (been using these values for a long time) to 13 and 15 (I think) when it crashed.

This is using version (i). I wasn't having any of the problems other people are posting about until I changed those settings.
I put them back to 15 and 20, and it hasn't crashed again...

I did also change the 2 windows displayed via maximizer to be 800x600 and 400x300 and this seemed to help with the PiP swapping and a few fps as well.
The second window was a slightly larger number before and didn't fit the 800x600 ratio. I don't think this part has anything to do with the crash, but thought it might help someone trying to improve performance.
