So lately I'm getting a lot of hate on my 4*19 hunter twinks.
Examples:
"that's just pure lonelyness" "that's pathetic" "lol that guy will never get laid" "I hate character copy"
Need hugs. ;(

Just know that you're having more fun than they ever will :P

I've found that people have been more friendly/interested with my new mixed group than before when I was running all 1 class.

No clue why.

That being said, you will never get away from stupid people..there are just to darn many of them! :P

And do you really care what they think?

And do you really care what they think?^^^This

I ignore anyone who tries to troll me in game. Because I tend to fly under the radar (I multibox at off-peak hours, don't PvP with them, run instances almost exclusively) I very rarely get noticed at all. Most people who do notice me either do not say anything, or they say it in the general channels (which I have turned off on all of my accounts), or their replies are benign or friendly. Now and then I get someone who says something like "lol loser" and I don't respond. Either he doesn't understand what he is seeing, or is just being a jerk, or whatever... it doesn't matter to me, I don't multibox to make him happy.

Now if he tries to troll the forums with anti-MB arguments... /cracks knuckles

This is because when people see 5x of 1 class, they think that somehow you hacked or copied your characters. It's just more noticeable.

Twinks draw a far amount of hate too. I think you're over-aggroing.

Feign Death until they go away.

While I have received a few insults the folks on my server seem to be far more accepting of my multi-boxing.

Does it really matter though? The last time someone gave me a hard time I challenged him to delete his Horde characters and re-roll alliance on the same server and I would show him exactly why I multi-box on a pvp server.

To an extent we all desire to feel like we belong to our community (our local server) but in order to do that we would have to conform to that community. We as multi-boxers are blatant non-conformists (and by the same token conformists to our own ideology) so it's natural to get flak when you don't conform to some child's desire that since he can't afford (or otherwise completely incapable) to do what you are doing you shouldn't do it either.

This forum is our community; this is where we encourage and educate each other so try not to care what others think on your server and in time maybe they will come to respect you because you did something very few have.

I am the exact opposite. I actively chat in the general chat with others, I help people when they ask, and because I run 4 I often pick up a pug doing the same quests just to be nice. I very much want the word out there that I do multi box, it is legal, and I'm not looking ruin anyone else’s experience in the game... At least till I hit 70 and then bring down the apocalypse upon any that oppose me. It does help on my server a great deal that Vyndree and Suvega are well established and known, which imo is keeping the flaming on me down. If I was the first multi boxer on a server I could definitely see more ppl asking WTF and harassing more, but most of the comments I get are "That’s awesome, multiboxing ftw". I have even had alliance that I /wave instead of /chain lightning on that hopped on their horde chars and chatted a bit.

Apparently coming down with ADHD and not finishing posts? =x lol I had to say it :p

But yeah I dothe same thing...I chat it up in general, show off in town, explain to those who'll listen how it's legal and done, direct them here if they get TOO question-y, basically show 'em you're a person behind the chars, not some instance hermit who won't deal with the masses ;p Someone in SW said "Wut the Shokk?!" when I was in town vendoring trash on all 5 chars + trading among them to consolidate all the linen/mining mats I gathered so Urth could smelt them and Flayme could JC them; I ignored him cuz, what can I respond to that with? Couple mins later after Flayme makes a few more rings the same person, still standing there like a retard staring, says "u got 5mins to reply" or something to that effect...but runs off at the same time. I Whisper him and "lol trying to test to see if I'm a bot? cute, but I'm not :P" he says "uh huh", I add "you try vendoring on 5 screens at once...lol) and that's pretty much it lol

I usually reply with "how rude!" or something like 4x"no waiii!", so they know there's a person behind it. They usually stop being rude and/or start being interested and ask what I'm doing. In the latter case I simply say that I'm controlling multiple WoW clients with 1 keyboard and that all keyboard input goes to all clients(no more info than this). They usually immediately understand that and say something like "that's cool". It usually changes their attitude :) (works in 90% of the cases)

let's face it, I hate hunters in general X( so it's only natural that 4x or 5x of them would get hate comments.

I may have to join the dark side and roll hunters as well.

I like to reply Ni hao.

Just for the sheer luls, that and they will not whisper you again :) joy. As was said earlier, they are idiots at the end of the day, humoring them gives the funnest results, and what they think is irrelevent.

Edit: What they think, not they they.

Hahaha, me too, but not when people are rude.
We've got a small multiboxing guild that is called "Knights Who Say Ni Hao" so we kinda have to... I once had a Chinese person talking to me in Chinese because of that xD

For me so far:

4 male Nelf hunters = some hate, some indifference, some "gee that's cool"
4 female gnome mages = pure love, too cute to hate, even from haters.
5 female belfs = marriage proposal from Spewsyerface, too sexy for my own good, /deletetoons

I sometimes just reply... "Don't be jealous because I can afford it. :P " Then I put them on ignore.

This is usually after the 3rd one in a day.

Dont feel too bad. Please know that you are going to find the exact oppisite of that reaction as well. I have had far far more people tell me what I was doin is cool and have had several long conv's with a few of em. They are now on my friends lists. You are going to attract attention, we all do. Just take things in stride. Besides its way too much fun to pwn instance bosses in 25 sec by yourself. :)

* "that's just pure lonelyness" - That's me wanting to skip shitty as pugs
* "that's pathetic" - That's them being jealous or not understanding.
* "lol that guy will never get laid" - Last night thank you very much.
* "I hate character copy" - He is an idiot, and you should get a good laugh at how stupid people can be.

Seriously, I get random comments like that, and I just tell people "Google / youtube 'Multi-Boxing'. "

/point at them and /laugh at the irony if they're harassing you FROM THEIR OWN TWINK.

If they're a twink that's complaining, tell them to look in the mirror. They're just upset because they couldn't buy enough leet twink gearz to make up for their lack of skill and inability to succeed in a team environment (BG).

Using money as an argument tool is the wrong way to go about it. "Don't knock it until you try it" would be a much better response. MOney will only lead to more bitterness from these punks...I just send them a pic of my 10-inch penis. Usually shuts them up. J/K :P

Even today i got asked by a guildie "why do you wanna play 5 toons" and my reponse to everyone for that question is why would you wanna play 1 toon? I find 5boxing to be the most interesting thing i have ever done in this game.. im almost never bored on em...

BTW... i am 1 week in.. 5x shams.. lvl 30:)

Your problem is the twiks

I was lvling my hunters to join my lvl 70 hunter. so lvled 4 hunters to 19. ran 5 or 6 wsgs. killed every twik in each match . Twiks hate to be owned. they have spent a lot of gold on getting the best toon possible. When you come in with 4 members that work as a team (pigs are so fun on rogue twiks) and can own most with little effort, get get pissed.

A twik has been owned so bad at lvl 70 pvp that they lvl a toon to 19, 29 and spend 300-800 gold to have the best in the game at that lvl. You ruin their perfect little setup of ownage of all.

I then lved 4 hunters to 29 and remianed their until Ihad 50 wsg tokens and 80 ABs ones. I also added a priest for fun(now healing on top of 4 good dps is just amazing at that lvl).

Any Ways you are the next lvl of twiking. twiking is looked at as wrong , no life , etc, etc, etc, . Twiking is now accepted as part of the game. Mutli-Boxing is also now part of the game but not widly accepted by all yet. It will come in time.

Do not GY camp them or you will ask for mor pain than you know what to do with. :)

I can live with the hatred.

If someone has an issue with it, it's their problem not mine. I will not respond to any idiot - a good tactic Is to whack them on ignore the second they start giving you hassle. Nothing is more annoying to these guys than for them to spend 3 minutes typing a whisper to tell you how sad you are, only to realise that you haven't received it and they can't talk to you again :)

I initially thought about trying to minimise my multiboxing footprint. So I was thinking of mixing the look of my characters. Making sure they are all named something different perhaps even mixing classes.

Then I thought stuff it - created 3 shamans all named phonetically similar (all of them named after my 70 shaman). I made these new shamans look exactly the same, but different from my main shammy. I'm on a roleplaying server (don't do much) but figure the story for having these identical shaman is that my main is their father (he looks older and wiser - luck not design) and that he is showing his triplet sons the ways of the shaman.
