Heyho!

Just started boxing 3 days ago. Im a "if i do i mean it" kinda guy so i started with 5 chars, oki, theres a little help, my gf plays a toon so i just take 4 :). Im a PvE fan so the heading was instancing with them so i made a mixed group, pala tank a mage 2 locks and a priest (GF). The macros went pretty well, got the hang of it pretty fast tough the toons are only lvl 14 atm, we have all the professions including the 3 gather skill, herb, skin, mine. The thing why i made this post is, is there any addon or something wich pings or whatever the minimap if it spots a node? Herbing is easy coz i have it on the main (pala) but mining is a pain in "there" because 2 tracking cant be turned on at the same time, obvious, so i have the mining on a lock. This pinging stuff could make life easier or something like that.

The other thing, the evergreen gathering quests. We are still on bloodmyst isle and almost did all the gathering quests but later on i dont really feel to do them like the trolltusks in stv. So, is there any guide or something that holds some info about a route or anything so i can avoid the gathering quests and uselessly wasted hours of running to new zones.

Got plenty of lvl 70 chars (7), and i know the quests wich to skip, also has brian kopps guide (used it for my last lvled 70 char) but it contains a lot of gathering stuff. I saw a post somewhere here about searching wowdb by filtering out "slain" and "killed" words in the quests, i should try it.

I hope your gf's account is under a seperate name. :p

If not, this might be the best time to freeze that account and reroll a new account under a different name. Account sharing is a permanent bannable offense both against blizzard's and this forums policy.

If that's not the case though, welcome to the forums, just felt the warning might have been neccesary. I wouldn't risk it personally, it's happened before plenty of times. :p

I can't help you on the addon question, I honestly haven't got a clue.

Actually she has 2 accs on her name so no worries, on the other hand blizz barely has anything to do with it if she would play on one of my accs, ye its in the terms of use that im not allowed to give my acc to someone but come on, wow players 40-50% plays on someone elses acc. Imagine a 15 years old boy who has no credit card and stuff like that so one of his parent will do it, blizz sometimes writes against itself :). Ok lets enough :).

Fact is, multiboxing draws attention. Blizzard would find out. :p But fair enough, hope you get your answers. ^^

Ye, was a tought in my mind, the attention. Since it appeared on woldofraids a lot of ppl know about it but as blizz said its "ok" "at the moment". But i dont know why they would be against it, its completely controlled by a human and nothing is automated and on the other hand blizz takes plus x4 monthly fee from a guy. The only thing they could say is "its ruining the games economy". Wotever, ive found the fun again in WoW, got tired of raiding and the emptiness of LFG tool, im so fed up with people who cant play their class, im bored of doing SL for 4 hours with a guy who thinks he can tank SL with fury, dressed in greens and a priest claiming he is dps with his holy build. I play on PvE server, theres a good side and a bad side of it, good side is: no ganking (played on PvP server, got two 70 on bloodscalp, i lost the fun there when i was corpsecamped for 2 hours by way higher levels then me, and not just once, whole time i levelled there), the bad side of PvE: ppl cant play their class, period. Not all but lots of noobs playing on PvE, well, at least thats my experience. On PvP server i cant recall an instance like on PvE, die after die, almost every1 could play on PvP server because they were forced to know their class if they wanted to survive. Have to admit PvP servers always be stronger then PvE. When i set up the 5 toons for the first time i felt almost the same when i started my first char. Will see how will it work later but i enjoy it atm, and i have to say i almost quit WoW and probably will do that soon, if the game keeps me interested till WotLK ill give a try for that.

p.s.: sorry for the wall of text, but i just started to think, do i really still like to play WoW...

Think again: http://dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=7133&pageNo=1
We've had multiple cases where multiboxers have been banned for account sharing. Trikk's is the most recent.

Think of it like a seat belt ticket -- you won't get slammed for not wearing a seatbelt unless the officer has already pulled you over. (Regardless, wearing a seatbelt is a good idea for safety). As a multiboxer, you get reported by the ignorant public MANY times -- and Blizzard is obligated to investigate you and your accounts each time you get reported. It's only a matter of time before they figure out the account names are different and you get the banstick for account sharing. The question is -- would you rather create new accounts and start over when your characters are level 10 or level 70?

Also, make sure you read the Community Guidelines ('http://dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Board&boardID=31') before continuing this line of reasoning. Particularly this part:

If it is against the ToS of the game you are discussing it is against dual-boxing.com’s community guidelines to discuss ways of breaking said ToS. We are COMMITTED to keeping our hobby 100% compliant with the ToS of any game we play.If it is against the ToS of the game you are discussing it is against dual-boxing.com’s community guidelines to discuss ways of breaking said ToS. And this contract your friends (who opened the accoutns) signed and you sign every time there's a patch...

You can try to fight all you want... don't come back here with a new thread:

"BANNED FOR MULTIBOXING.. !!!!"

And then we'll do a search for all of your threads... and look-y here... account sharing.

Against the TOS... and against our forum rules.

Ok lets enough :).As was said, the problem is that Blizzard will get reports that you are botting, and they have to investigate. If they see that you're multiboxing, they will not take action against you for that. But if they find that the accounts are in different names, they may take action against you for account sharing. They take account ownership extremely seriously at Blizzard, as it protects them from having to make judgment calls if people contest ownership.

We're not trying to give you a hard time, a lot of people started multiboxing by using a friend or family member's account(s). But due to the probability that you will be reported and investigated at least a few times, the chance that you will have your accounts banned is pretty high.

Since you can purchase an account for < 40 bucks I would highly recommend ditching any "even remotely close" ban-able accounts. Think about the time to get to 30 much less 70 and geared. In that time to replace that character you could have made 40 dollars many times over.

Also its not that expensive since I think (not confirmed yet, I am waiting on it :P ) recommend YOURSELF for that free trial and get a free month of gaming. So with a new account you get a free month on that account (of course) and as soon as you pay for the second month - I BELIEVE - you get a free month on your main account!

All in all - not expensive! Just deactivate one of your older accounts you dont use much and get a new one IMO.

Its funny, I was just posting in Vyndree's botting ban thread about how theres always someone that thinks somehow the rules don't apply to them, then I refresh and this thread bumps up on the list. Sweet irony...

Hm, look, i have nothing to fear, every acc is proper. The 4 chars im playing are on the same name and credit card, only my gfs acc is different and she plays that toon. So thats all, but i hope you notified that this thread is about something completely different then what it was made about. :)

p.s.: i wanted to say something about blizz and their policy but i dont want to read and write this thread anymore, im happy with 4 boxing now :)
