Conan Early Access first impression

Here's first thoughts:

1. nice looking.. needs a bit more polish to it.. but it just released..
2. quests are easy.. you get an arrow to the quest area and an X on the map.. if its a collection quest the area where to collect is marked on the map
3. combat is fun and interactive... you do have to pay attention
4. Nipples are awesome........

man! i bought my pre-order like months ago and i didn't get into the pre-release. I got my code and everything but when i go to the site to dl the game client it says they are all gone...wtf! anyways, i guess i'll check it out tomorrow with everyone else.

So let's see you're a guy, right? If yes, you should totally get why nipples are just important!! A small but important detail which needs to be implemented for the full game experience.
If you're not ... I don't know! :/ I guess than it's not as important. :P

It might be standard in Germany, but those setting the gaming age regulations here in the UK and US are a little prudish by comparison :P

on the other hand.. we get violent video games, you get more nipples on tv/games..

And thus emerges my proposal for world peace.. violence can be subdued by nipples (we can take Germany as a test case and proof of concept).. I think you know where this is going

lol! i wonder if germans still catch crap for stuff that happened 2 generations ago, it's like racism...i just dont get it but its still out there...
Oh speaking of other countries, one of my good friends is scotish and i made the mistake of calling him english once, and he got all pissy, i dunno why but scotish and english dont get along for some reason according to him.

Again i think that's holding a grudge for no good reason for something that happened a long long time ago...

Germany has stricter censorship laws when it concerns violence. When I was working for a movie company, the movies had to be slightly edited to be allow to be sold as DVDs in Germany.

I just find it weird that here in the States, we are fine with all the violence on TV... but people have a problem with nipples... as if the nipple is the cause of all evil.

Germany has stricter censorship laws when it concerns violence. Yeah if you want to Watch Animes(for Example) you see sweat instead of Blood, and or the whole scene is deleted, it pisses me off to see Onepiece like this, so I keep watching it on youtube in Japanese with Eng Subs.

OmG world peace, it is not possible to achieve something like this in our world. May the reasons be Past, Religion, Opinions, Misunderstanding, Culture(maybe some subkind of Religion or vice versa). And of course Money. That's why I have joined the german army ... no not to rule the world or die tryin or some sh*t. I wanted to help people, and many things I've seen were hatred and misunderstandin, even if germany is not active in those critical zones. And I don't like thones things, I'm always polite and something helpful, I can't imagine how those people have to feel their own life was they went through.

Before this "trip" I was angry for any tiny reason, know I'm calm, many of my friend said omg is that you? and some stuff...

well unfortunately ay :S old habits die hard, and whilst we learn from history, it helps shape our opinions about people and where they come from. For better or worse, and unfortunately often, as in the cases you pointed out, for worse.

For some bizarre reason, where in the minds of normal people, history is history, and past opinions remain in the past, in some, old prejudices and beliefs influence their own opinions so much that they will still hold grudges, even hate, towards those who could be tied to said history. (please note there is a difference to ones own experience in the past to that of historical past)

Some will always believe that Germans (the current generations) are in their entirety (ie without exception) responsible for the wars and thus should be held responsible. Germans thus will always take flack for the crap that happened so long ago, and maybe even worse, sometimes made to feel guilty for it.
Racists will still exist when their opinion is based on old beliefs of inequality. Thus there will always be racists.

as for the the Scottish-English thing.. dunno, it's either stems from the Scottish Independence thing, or it's the north-south divide that some people take so seriously. Or maybe he thinks english ppl can't handle their alcohol as well as the Scotts :)

I'm just glad I'm such an outsider no matter where in this world I go that noone knows what to label me as :) (anglo-germanic-hispanic-etcetc central hemispherian would be the term if you take the Prime Meridian as your point of reference)

anyways, now to bring this thread back on topic!

As you may have noticed I place some blame on how such ideals (potentially false ones) are formed, on historical teachings, which can, without the proper perspective lead to these grudges etc. Thus if we were to replace history with nipples (male and female ones) we would all be much better off.

There's a 7-day guest pass that comes with the game when you buy a retail copy, but Funcom hasn't "turned on" the ability to use them. They stated they wanted all the paying customers to get a chance to log in and play before they enabled the guest accounts. I don't know if there will be other guest passes available from the website like WoW or EQ.
