First, I ordered a multiplier last week, waiting on it to get here; i swear, ive been wanting one of those for years as an EQ multiboxer, without really realizing thats what I wanted...till i found this site, lol. (that'd be a generic thanks, lol) so anyway, this is more of a setup question, but has anyone thought of having, say, an X-Keys pro between the KM and Multiplier, so you could broadcast w/ the keypad while singly controlling a character(say, your Leader) with the keyboard? Or is that what everyone does, and I just somehow missed that in a week of trolling reading the boards... Been trying to figure out how to get around not broadcasting movement keys to everyone... Sorry if thats a dumb question, but is there a better solution, or will that work fine, or what? (Since the X-Keys provides a pass through, it seems like it would work, i have neither a X-Keys or multiplier in front of me yet...)

Secondly, mostly just a curiosity thing, but has anyone wired up multiple computers in such a way to turn more than one comp on or off at once? I saw some stuff (rather expensive stuff) for turning off AC sockets remotely, which wouldn't really work since I have UPS's, and I dont really need remote on/off since the comps are on site, but would be cool to have a "Big Red Button" for the clone army, lol. Maybe I'm just lazy.

Shutting down remote computers. It works for 2k, xp and vista.

Well, I just unbind the movement keys on my alt characters or bind them to something else so that way it just controls my main, but I can still control the alts via the mouse. I have the mouse sharing setup via Octopus.

Octopus is what I use for remote shutdown and even startup via Wake-On-LAN.

@ Phnx
Unbinding the movement would work, but I remember people talking about switching the 'lead' character in case the leader goes down.(via focus) That sort of implies a scheme for only sending movement commands to a single char at a time, while still broadcasting commands. I will have to experiment. I kinda like the idea of being able to broadcast while singly controlling a character, if it works. Of course, I am EQ1 PVE, and have an odd assortment of classes hehe.

Wake-On-Lan might be what I am looking for, reading up on it. Thanks for mentioning it, I remember seeing it in BIOS settings but never investigating.

I will check out Octopus too, was experimenting with Synergy for awhile but its kinda buggy and would occasionally die, leaving me without a mouse on the main computer, very annoying.

I was more interested in 'booting them', but combining that with WOL might give me all the functionality I need.
