Hey Everyone :)

Im considering Dualboxing, but you probably know that already or I wouldn't be here lol.

I currently own two WoW accounts and have one of the new MacBook Pro's to run WoW. I've read the wiki on dual and multiboxing, and at the moment it seems like Im gonna stick to Dualboxing - I just can't justify paying for more than 2 accounts at the moment.

I understand there are several ways to achieve this, Ive set up two instances of WoW on my laptop, the second with its own cache etc to avoid erratic behavior. I've also considered using my laptop and my Mac Pro to dualbox - and a software option like synergy, but this just seems a bit excessive and not very advantageous.

I guess I just need some basic advice on class setup etc. I'm considering running 2 mages - Ive never played with this class before, and thats what I'm after - a challenge. My fear is that I'll be relying heavily on AoE, and considering the minimap ping macro has been "fixed" by blizzard - I have no idea how i would manage to ever AoE on my other box if im just using my laptop and an additional monitor.

I kind of understand how the whole movement thing works, using /follow, but is there a way to orientate the extra box so when you stop to kill something, its facing the right way?

I know its probably easier to just get out there and try it, its just I have a limited amount of time I can spend on WoW, and I'm not even currently paying for both accounts, so I want to get as much setup/sorted out before I start.

Addons? Any recommendations?

Thanks,

Nightcloak

facing issues are something that you will work out when you start doing it, you will get used to it.
If your wanting to use 2 machines to box with you will need to use keyclone or octopus. 1 machine runs 2 copies of wow fine aswell.

Hotkeynet supports multiple machines no problem, not sure about auto hotkey, but it is a case of looking through the different options for programs and seeing what you are comfortable with

If your wanting to use 2 machines to box with you will need to use keyclone or octopus.
Or some hardware.

I box with 2 Pcs and a wireless keyboard (and 2 receivers) - and one Cable-Keyboard, and a mouse on each pc (for whispers, makrorewriting, chatting, .....).

Setup:
You will need Dmg and healing (and the main, which should always have the aggro, should have some Hp's and Armor).
I have started a mage and Warlock combo - and my mage has always the aggro (no Walker yet - lvl 9) and so the hp's getting sometimes really low....
So for the beginn I would recommand a Dps - hybrid/healer combo (2 Shamans, Druids, Hunter/hybrid, ...)

Don't forget the buffs, rezzs,....

Addons:
[Addon] Multiboxer V2 ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=7195') - MultiboxerV2
A Great Addon, which helps a lot.

A Bar-addon
like Bongos, Bartender,....

A Gui-Addon
like Xperl, Pitbull,...
