Group Cooldowns

Someone in our part of the Forums asked for a group cooldown, cause he/she saw it in an MB Movie, so I started to look for it. I googled and came to the Addon CooldownTimers 2 ('http://files.wowace.com/CooldownTimers2/CooldownTimers2-r71973.zip') (Download latest version) but it seems to be that it isn't working so I tried to set it, till I got the clue with it.

I don't know if everyone of you knows this, or is using this, used the search function to find something but find nothing.

You have to turn it on:
-Rightclick the Mapbutton go to Spell Cooldowns
-Choose the Spell you want to Broadcast to your main or to the group, what ever you want
-Click "Share" to let the addon Broadcast it.

That's all.

Note: The "Group"(the addon names it like this) : "GroupCooldowns" must not to be deleted, or renamed, then it shows you errors.

btw, don't look on my ui too closely was working on it so it looks silly.

Just to clarify does it share it via party chat or something like it or via the addon channel to allow other characters using cooldowntimers? I've been playing with it on one of my minions running it, seems to use alot screen real estate for stuff I don't need...

Any ideas on a mod that would share certain cool downs via a custom chat channel or something like it?

As far as I know no channel is getting spammed with messages from this addon. I assume it's spamming in invisible addon-channel to keep track of the cooldowns all the time for all the abilities you set up to be shared with others.

If I understand right, you can many things turn invisible, and only let the Party CD's work. That's how I do it. It's also for other Players, if they are in your Party and using this addon too, they can set their cooldowns to Broadcast it to you GCD "button" and vice versa. They don'T see you're GCD if you don't want it, and you can turn it off, as I remember.

I used this addon and Sorren's timers for my first 30 levels, but found that I didn't use them too much. I always ending up looking at my other screens to see cooldowns. Plus, they both seemed to be very unreliable and difficult to set up. If an alternative came along, I have no doubt I'd use it, but for now I don't need the clutter and extra setup headache.

Can't figure out what's so difficult to just klick an Arrow in front of a Spellname ;)

I Use my Cooldowns quite often , 2 Troll Mages with Berserk and Icy Veins is cool ;) It's just nice to see when it's ready

Don't need them in the moment because I'm beginning my new Crew, and they have Similar CD's, so theirs np.

I wonder if one of our more talented code monkeys could dig into this addon's code find where and how it detects cooldowns and transmits to the addon channel and provide an option to transmit to a custom channel or party instead....

Meantime Shaitan I can't seem to find the options making the gui portions invisible with the exception of cooldown notification. Can you provide or maybe dump a copy of your Saved Variables file associated with this addon with the components already hidden....

It was me who was looking for a decent group cooldown addon, cooldown timers 2 does not fit the bill as it throws tons of horrendous lua errors on pretty much every shared cooldown I bother to set up.

I have tried clean installs i have tried only with CT2 installed The moment I share a cooldown between the 5 of them (say Gift of the Naaru) for example and then cast it, it blows up on any where from 2 - 5 of the chars with lua errors and its pretty much random wich get errors and wich it seems to work for.

I'm working on an addon that will send remote event notifications to MSBT/SCT. I'm mostly interested in totem notifications, but it would be pretty easy to add a module for cooldowns. Is that what you are looking for?

Personally? I am really looking for what CT2 was suposed to provide (or DoTimers comm module that no longer works) is just bars on my main's screen that are counting down the cool down of the Alt's abilities. CT2 would work awsome for me, I just cant seem to use it without throwing LUA errors every time I use a spell I am sharing.

Though as a stop gap solution if it sends that remote notificaiton for when the ability is ready... that may work as well.

As I know, you can click with Shift+Lclick to make this thing Invisible, could be that I mix something up with an other add on, but I think It's Posible.

Couldn't play for a week or something.

Couldn't play for a week or something.Shift+left click kinda works, by locking the frame so you can't move it etc, but otherwise it exists if theres something the addon thinks it should display in that frame like an annoying cooldown bar or some such. Mind you I only played with it for like 20 minutes before I got frustrated and unloaded it (I am more then a little cranky without my prescribed dosage of coffee), so there may have been something I missed somewhere...

I decided to give this addon a try and it looks like to be ecaxtly what im looking for, if I could only get it work the way I want. I am not having any errors thrown so it seems the mod is working without trouble.

The problem I am having is that I cannot get cooldowns to be shared with the group. I have tried the obvious settings of selecting the cooldown and enabling share, but it is not being shared. For whatever reason the only group cooldown I can get to work is Natures Swiftness on my resto shammy. This displays perfectly in the group cooldown section on my main window. I would really like to have other things like heroism , elemental mastery etc working like this as well.

Am I missing a setting? I will persist and tinker more, however if someone has this working can they let me know what settings they changed?

Can't tell you something, I only wanted to share this with you all. Some day one off our german Boxers asked, and I went off to get an answer. And I'm currently inactive for a few weeks, but I try to take a look at it when I'm back, Promise. ;)

I can only say, I haven't coded this or something, it's just something to be figured out by me was a coincidence (OM... I think this sentence is not correct ^^ hope you understand it)

I cannot tell when my new InternetProvider get's my Inet in my new home to work, but I hope it's before Warhammer OB comes^^ and I can play a bit wow before it comes.
