Hiya, I am thinking about firing up a few boxes for EQ again, but I can not seem to get Multibox to work. I start up the Serverclient on my Main, then the Client itself on my main, which seems to connect just fine. Then I go to one of my boxes, start up the client, fill in the hostname and it simply does not seem to connect. Times out everytime.

I have 6 computers all on the same workgroup name, however, they are connected through a rather complex setup of routers. Don't ask me how I got this to work but it does. Basically my Main comp is connected to the main router/modem, then another router which has 2 of my boxes is connected to a port of that Main router and then there's a third router which has 3 boxes who is connected to the second router again.... However, I have no problem getting all of these comps to show up in "network places" and I can also access all their shared files folders vice versa, so I am thinking the connectivity is all there. I am not really a LAN wizard even though this jumble works ok, I could have some very basic settings wrong.

The ports used are the same and and multibox is exempted from the Firewall, should I try maybe other ports?

Thanks for any help! :)

My machines have static internal IP's, I simply use the IP of the "server" box to get them to connect. Might want to try the same.

Thanks jmet, I will try that. Currently all IP's are assigned by DHCP. Anyone else got suggestions?

Could the strange routersetup have to do with it? Or should that not matter?

Routers with nat enabled? Give a small diagram with ip and netmasks, makes wondering about your problem a bit easier.
