Taken from your post at http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=4665487424&sid=1 Neph, just to make sure everyone here can see it too
Yes, allowing AddOns to target spells via the minimap ping was not intentional and was fixed. AddOns may not directly cast spells or change targeting.

sooo...i do not run any mods, this was only the macro falcor posted.....i am disappointed that they took this out.
rumors of a targeted area based mobility spell for warlocks in WoTLK made me think of the possibilities for a few macros using this method - one would be a basic "blink", the other actually separate the group and "triangulate" them lol..WELL SO MUCH FOR THAT NOW ugh..
this was so good...if i heard the stealth sound i could hit my macro that bathed the group in fire.....if a bunch of enemies were coming i could cast a nice wall of fire...oh well at least they can't take my drain life away :D

With creative camera angles, you can do this with mouse-click-broadcasting in tools like Keyclone or Octopus or similar if they support it.

Good point Ugh, it should still be possible to macro the aoe targeting at least on top of yourself with a macro similar to the loot macro.
That being on top of yourself being the simple option, and further away with the use of creative camera angles.

Can't give you a script or something but why not try an other way?
