On my 4 63 bm spec hunters and stumbled accross some epic'd pally. No idea what season or whatever, but everything was glowing and cool looking, so I'm guessing pretty decent gear. Ganked the crap out of him, caused him to bubble in less than 3 seconds. Finished him off shortly after his bubble went away. He tried to heal through my dps but died pretty fast.

So then I go about questing after spitting on his corpse. I see him hovering above me in the sky on his mount. After a couple more minutes he swoops down and begins attacking, lo and behold he called on his 70 lock friend (also epicd) to help.

I go into beastial wrath (unlike last time) to try and finish him off uber quick. Instead, All 4 hunters and 4 pets are attacking him all out, and he's just sitting there taking barely any dmg and healing himself. Wtf? I sat there for a good 5 seconds while the lock was dotting us up trying to hurt the paladin, and we didn't do any dmg at all!

So I say screw this and focus on the lock. Got him down to 40% then he got a big heal from the paladin and the lock then aoe feared us. Logged out while they corpse camped me and that was all she wrote.

So wtf was that paladin doing to not take any dmg and heal through our attacks? When seconds ago we utterly destroyed him.

"I've got Blessing of Protection baby!"; chances are he used that, it's barely noticeable..if you did still do dmg and it wans't arc shot/serp sting(BoP only stops physical dmg, not magical/poison) then I have no idea beyond dmg absorb trinkets or switching gear around for more resilience/armor

or switching gear around for more resilience/armor

I'd put my money on this. Did you look and see if his gear changed? Maybe he was a protection paladin who was out grinding in holy damage gear or something. And switched to his leet tanking gear when he called in his lock friend.

Either way, unless theres more to the story, sounds like you get what you deserved after randomly ganking some poor dude when you're running around x5 (or whatever you box) and then choose to spit on him as though it's some fantastic achievement.

I still <3 you though :)Hey I didn't expect to live much longer after that. But it was just too resisting to mess with that 70.

hm if he was well gear'd then i guess he has 2 different of his t sets, so he looks the same but with a different set. I don't know how much different sets there for pally but i guess 3? so he have could switched from retri too prot, but Blessing of Protection is the right answer to this i think

Well thats some frickin insane gear he has. I've never played a 70 that far into endgame, had one ding 70 then immediately started multiboxing on a new server.

So you got my 4 huntards doing about 300dps with beastial wrath, along with my pets which do ~130dps per pet on beastial wrath. That's 1720 incoming dps that he was healing through. Not to mention my ranged attack speed is 1.20, and my pets have cobra reflexes so they attack very fast too.

My money is on Blessing of Protection since I remember arcane shots doing dmg, he was was just sitting there to distract me while the lock took me out (didn't notice the lock at first). What I want to do is bind a lvl 1 sting to a key and have him waste time dispelling that instead of wasting mana on a higher level sting that will just get dispelled/bubbled. Sadly I'm lazy and that probably won't happen anytime soon.

Blessing of Protection was changed a couple patches back because of cry babies in arena saying it wasn't noticeable. It now puts a huge frickin crown over the persons head. If he was using it, you would have noticed. My bet is on changing gear.

Hmm, interesting.

He bubbled and tried to heal, but not enough heal--it could definitely mean he's not holy spec.

I'm Prot Spec, and I build a Ret spec from arena and honor. When I got about the world, I put on my ret-pvp set. My dps is not really good while on ret gear and prot spec, but I can last some, and heal a few. With 4 hunters and 4 pets, incoming damage would be fast without a shield, and other neat PvE tricks (block trinket for heals for instance). And hunter draining mana, a pally with no mana = dead pally.

He was ganked, and thus unprepared. Good job on killing him 4 on 1. The 6 level difference is negligible in PvP. My 3 shamans at 63 killed a 70 mage at the time. /shrug.

He came back prepared and with a 70 warlock, and you chose to focus fire on the pally (most likely a tank) and you ignored the high dps warlock. But you were too late to switch as you unloaded on the pally which was negated by a bubble. And I bet he hit the warlock with Lay On Hand instead of Holy Light spam.

I would save Divine shield on my self, and BoP on a caster dps. Other than viper sting, I can probably wittle down 4 hunters and 4 pets but going after the non-main guy one at the time, with Judged Justice, and Seal of Light/Seal of Wistom. The passive blocks form Holy SHield and Ret Aura and Bless of Sanctuary will kill the pets in time.
