I am level 65 now and was wondering where I should put my efforts. I had a thought that I should grind Sethekk Halls so at level 70 I can get the spell damage mace. I think I can stomach this. On my Warrior I ground out Aldor Exalted before I hit level 70 so I could get the sword. Seeing as I only have 5 levels to go what rep do you think I should be concentrating on?

Hey there, it would help if you could tell me what class you are.
I'm guessing from your post and signature you are 5 elemental shamans?
I know my friend on my server has been farming up to the first boss in Sethek Halls on his 3 mages. just those three and he was in crappyish gear.
Otherwise get the season1 mace, it isnt too bad either.
If you really want to go the extra mile get the main hand dagger from first boss in Heroic MgT, really decent mace that can last you quite a while.

it really depends.

Do you want to pvp or pve? I wanted to pvp, so on my way up, I just made I hit honored with everyone so I got all the free blue pvp gear I could, and then just farmed honor for gear after. Also, pvp gear is pretty good for pve.

Ive been wondering about this myself. I know for sure i will be honored with all PvP vendor reps. And i really think ill start saving honor for the S2 weapon when S4 goes live. I might have it before that ( the honor ). Ill mostly use these guys for PvP and dailies. Ill do a few of the easier heroic bosses each day as well. But i wont be farming 20 badges a day or anything. 4-8 a day tops.

For my paly, is the PvP Prot gear good for PvE ? or should I focus him on PvE obtained gear ?

There isn't really PvP Prot gear, so to speak. I think the closest would have to be the Lamellar stuff (Stam/Int, Resil, Spell Damage) but I think that stuff is more directed toward shockadins.

And while resilience will get you uncrittable, it won't help with your avoidance (dodge, block, parry)

The arena spelldamage weapons come to mind for prot pallies.... The shield isn't too bad either. ;) Mmm... armor.

Yeah, for prot pally you can get a spell damage 1h mace and shield, but they are some of the most expensive pieces. It costs something like total 4300 arena points just for the S2 versions (5000+ for the S3 ones along with personal rating req too). I'd suggest doing arenas for either the S2 shield or mace and then honor for the S1 version of the other -- there's only one S1 shield and it's not spelldamage, but you really don't need more than what comes on the weapon for tanking as a prot pally. The fastest route would be S2 shield and S1 honor mace... 1630 arena points, and 25K honor + 20 EOTS.

Tankadins rely much of their spell damage from weapons, so a good pvp choice is the 1h mace spell dmg * healing.

The other source of spell damage would be from Glove enchant, and its a tough call to get +Spell Dmg on bracer instead over +12 stam.

The Holy Shield trinket for Resilience is kinda dumb for Prot Pally who would should be uncritable in PvE.

In terms of PvE, you can easily get SSO faction to exalted in 2 weeks worth of daily quests.

You get an epic PvE Shield in the end, and a decent 1h Mace at Revered (better than Continuum Blade from KoT)--good enough to hold over until you can grind LC or get area weapon.

What I did was cleared the first room in SL up to the first hallway that curves. Reset and repeat, you can clear it really quick and you'll get a ton of Marks of Sageras and Fel Armaments to also get you exalted with Aldor at the same time (or you can sell/trade them for coin). You'll get to a point where you clear it so fast that you will get the 'too many instances' problem- in which case you can either clear all and including first boss in SL every so often, or just take a trip to Sethekk and clear up to 1st boss as a break from the boredom and increase the time in between resets to keep within the 5 per hour. Not sure how doable this is if your whole group is 65 but thats the minmum zone in level.

Sanctume mentioned the SSO shield but I would personally just grind the honor (15000) and marks (20 EOTS) and just buy the S2 shield when S4 hits.

edit: I see now that you're running 5x shaman so all this talk of prot pally gear is not very helpful to you :)
So yes the LC mace is the best easily-obtainable weapon for a Shaman - I'd personally do the grind.

WTF does "BRR" mean?Thats the feeling you get when you go to the toilet after eating too much junk food, when the 'load' runs freely without 'pushing'

(and yes, you asked for it :P)

I do have 5 shamen sitting at 466 spell damage at the moment. I tried Sethekk at level 65 and couldn't get past the first boss. Now that I have earth elementals I think I should be able to do it. Should I be trying to farm Shadow labs before level 70?

As far as PVE and PVP I really want to do both. My plan is to grind out 33 badges for the spell damage shield as soon as possible.

I was honored with all the five factions that give that armor set at 68. :P

(granted, I turned in a lot of scryer rep stuff which helped with sha'tar rep. :P
