Hey, I know there's a lot of knowledgeable folks out there, I'm trying to find a solution for work that would utilize our old hardware as thin clients... I'm specifically interested in PXE Boot because it limits the failure potential, but I'm also interested in solutions utilizing CD Images to boot...

I need to be able to connect to a windows term server when done, preferably in as automated a way as possible... I'd like to be able to give instructions to someone who's english is poor and have them understand.

"Put the disk in the drive and turn it on" would be an ideal configuration once the disc or pxe system was setup.

BartPE boot CDRW or USB sticks should be a workable solution, though you will have to add the drivers for the NIC and any automation you want for the network connections. I use it here at work off a USB stick for diagnostics and drive/partition/filesystem management when the OS is either not loaded or not working. No PnP, so it would be sub-optimal for unknown configurations.

LTSP - Linux Terminal Server Project
http://www.ltsp.org/

LTSP has a good guide to "just press power and have login" ;)

Without disks or usb sticks.
