How to spread clones out?

Is it a macro or an addon to make it so your clones spread out in a certain way?
Can someone provide links or an explanation please?

[edit2] I cleaned-up the formations page (the forum quotes were unreadable, because they were a direct copy-paste from the forums). Now I demand 5 cookies total :P
