View Full Version : Left shift/right shift removed from WoW?

I had noticed earlier when I used to make bindings a year or so ago that you could either program a modifier for left or right, with shift, ctrl, alt etc. However recently whenever I press right shift and "x" to bind something to in WoW it is still only detected as shift, not left or right... was this taken out 8| If so, how GAY!! Also on that note my main problem is that I'm running out of modifier keys, and I actually want a fourth mod button. Anyone else got this same predicament or have any solutions? I was thinking about getting one of those programs that you can use to reprogram your keyboard, and programming my table button in between ctrl and alt to right shift. If there is no longer any right shift though it would be kind of pointless I guess.

Obviously you didn't get my point, so I'll make it more clear.
Please move that comment from your posts.

A pair of shifts that share a keyboard and are the same seems quite similar to homosexuality to me.

Someone who finds that comment offense and asked nicely for you to remove it. Would have taken you 5 seconds to do so and not changed the tone or actual question contained in your first post but instead you decide to show the type of person you actually are.
I had thought members of this community were more mature and sensible than to accept comments like that, but seeing as I appear to be the only one that has an issue with it, I think I migth call it a day on these forums.

I'd prefer it if you didn't.

Not true. I take at least as much offence as anybody else here when people try to drag the general tone down to that of "other" forums.
But you did a grand job of complaining on behalf of all whom the comment irked, so I decided just to ignore the post(er) :)

HotkeyNet lets you use any key as a modifier. It also lets you use the three keyboard toggles (capslock, numlock, and scroll lock) as part of the trigger combination. And it lets you use up to nine keys in the trigger combination.

The shifts do still work perfectly as in game bindings also, and modifiers in macros.
If you can't get them to work, the problem is most likely on your side.

While I agree with the essence of Kyntestorme's post, I want to point out that you did not in fact 'ask him nicely' to remove it. Sarcasm and the use of the word 'please' after a demeaning sentence doesn't count.
I don't distinguish use of the left or right shift keys in any of my macro's, as far as the original point of this thread goes. However, I suspect that Bindpad [addon] does - I know I use it to differentiate different totem drops by binding one macro to 'numpad 3' and another to 'L-CTRL - Numpad 3', rather than making one macro with a modifier (which was also harder to modify on the fly).
