I just had an idea for an awesome mod for shaman groups that would work like PallyPower does, in that you can have one person designated to select which buff (or in this case totem) each character does.
This would be even simpler than PallyPower since you won't have to select the targets of the buffs (totems are not targeted).

Anyway, a mod that lets the main select which totems to use for each character, and then you can just hit the keybinding (broadcasted with multiboxing) to make them all put down the selected totems.
It should be faster to set it up than PallyPower since you don't have to select targets, so might even be viable to make adjustments in combat.

If anyone could make this mod, even based heavily off PallyPower, I think this would be a great addition to the growing number of multiboxing mods (some singleboxing shamans might like it too, its essentially a fancy way of setting up a totem castsequence, with a graphical way of setting it up, and the added function of having a person designated to set it up for all the shamans in the group/raid(though I'm sure this function will be far less useful for singleboxers unless they are extremely lazy)), and would be really helpful to all the shaman teams out there. An option to save preset setups would make it perfect. (like people have one PvP totems button and one PvE, this would allow you to just load in one of your premade setups, and as such would really make chaging totem setup on the fly a breeze)

I've wanted something like that for a while too. I wrote this gizmo LibRpc ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=6136&') to get started. The idea is that you have a totem macro like this on each of your clones:

/castsequence reset=60/combat <totem1>, <totem2>, <totem3>, <totem4>

On your main you have a macro template plus a 2D grid of buttons that let you choose which shamans cast which totems. Every time you change the parameters the mod uses LibRpc to reprogram the remote totem macro for the corresponding shaman(s). My thought was to make it a general mod for macro reprogramming. I can think of some other things I'd like to use it for too: PvE vs. PvP shocks, switching default pally seals, etc.

Yeah, my request is more that someone at least for a starting solution take the PallyPower code and change it to do the totems, since PallyPower already has all the communications and interface in place.

if i understand what your saying, might i suggest trying the following:

set up one button (the same on all characters) with different totems on each character? let me explain.

say action bar button one is bound to 1 . in the slot your put Mana spring totem f.x for your main (what do i know:P) and on another toon you place a different totem in the same slot, with the same binding.
you could easily make 2 or 3 buttons for some easy Totem havoc.

fx. i have it set up so that (im still low lvl) that numpad 4 casts Stoneclaw totem on main, healing totem on toon 1, and fire totem on 2 and 3. since some cooldowns apply to many totems, ive also set up numpad 5 and 6 like this, just in reverse order
to compensate for the cooldowns, and make it rotate between them to maximize the usage. (really great in instances, where you wanna keep up the CD totems as long as posible)

When did cast sequences become uncool ?! :(

I use Chaman2.

It allows you to predetermine what totem you want dropped on each toon for each type, then when you press the keybinding, it drops a totem of the pre-selected type, for each toon simultaneously.

Shift+1 - Fire Totem: Searing totem, Searing totem, Searing Totem
Shift+2 - Ait Totem: Winfury Totem, Grounding, Grounding
etc etc

Now I know this doesn't give you the "Set it up from your main" functionality, but it's been working for me.

They're not. It's just a pain to edit them on 4 different toons when you want to tweak your loadout.

I use a very simple ACE2 UI Mod called Yata. Works great for me so far, no need for macros each school is hot keyed to my num pad 1 thou 4 and away I go. Each shaman drops the totum I want as easy as 1-2-3-4.

How do you edit the loadout if you want to drop, say, 1 poison cleansing totem?
Does it have different "sets" you can save? For instance, a PvP vs. PvE set?

Yeah, my bad for not making this clear, slight typo in the topic subject, changed from macro to addon.

I know how to do castsequences and all that, and yes its tricky to set up in small windows etc.

What i'm looking for is an addon like PallyPower that lets me set up from the main which totems the alts will drop, and then they can all spam one button to drop the current setup.
And then the additional function to save and load complete setups.

I think there'll be more of a demand for this now that Shaman buffs are raid wide, although I haven't seen one just yet.

There used to be a castmod like this for locks, which generated a macro or just let you make a keybind (dont remember correctly), this would be so awesome for shammys. (that and showing cooldowns like NS , EM, ANKH, groundings, etc)

if i would have time/lust.. ;<
