Well, we're starting to see some people posting on the general forums about how to get started..guess this could be the start of a good thing, or a bad (on both forums)

Is that you posting with Ebolak Xzin? certainly has your style stamped all over it ;) and 6 wall mounted screens sort of gives it away ;)

It could become a problem if multiboxing goes mainstream....
Fortunately I don't think it will come that far. Many will quit very fast. :D

Word is out guys. I am freakin positive that people are interested in whats going on. Anyone Ive ever even mentioned it to were interested. Most however merely want to see some video and read some posts(prolly some trolls too) but they dont ever plan on doing it. There are some like me that stumbled across this webpage by accident and immediately wanted to do exactly what you all are doing. Took awhile but im finally there :)
I must say I enjoy the "dark" side so much better. And I agree, many will try it but we have to see how many stick it out.

Most people won't make it past macro creation...hehe.

Aye alot of the QQers think it's sunshine and farts and ez wins...they don't realize the kind of work and thought that actually goes into making this work(Though thankfully less than it used to be thanks to Rob and Keyclone, or Octopus and the like + these forums' wealth of information for those willing/able to read)
Like we always repeat to "OMG ADVATANGES" yellers...there's just as many cons as there are pros. You may gain great focus fire but it comes, surprise, at the cost of individual control; the only way to make up for that partially is through clever and complicated in-game Macro use and even then it simply can't compete with a solo boxer healer's mobility and thought capacity.

If multiboxing picks up, great. One the positive side, we may see some more development directed at us, and less harassment. On the other hand, I'd rather we not become so large that someone on the dev team decides to get on their high horse and start making content with the explicit intention of making encounters non-boxable.

If they ever devote resources to "boxing" mechanics, they'll nerf certain synergies, IMO (such as stacking healing totems or ToWrath). But only if boxing becomes much more prevalent. Now, by prevalent I mean about 100x more people doing it than the few dozen regulars I see here. ;)

Well mainstream is a big word. 3-5 boxing definitely draws attention, similar to how BT legendary swords do. You remember that one guy with the swords, but you probably wont remember the thousands of random solo players in the random BGs you visit. I think we are growing a lot faster than we did before, but that's thanks to the community supporters.
I hope they don't put in boss fights where each character has to simultaneously run and click something. Would totally kill a MB team. Although pugs wouldn't have the coordination to accomplish it either, so I think it won't be that bad at the 5 man level.

Yeah, I'm thinking it's great that people are starting to get comfortable enough with the concept to actually ask about help for it on the general forums but I'm concerned that we'll start getting trolls doing the same thing and then claiming they tried it and it was so easy and should so be nerfed and have some semi-credible source to show they tried it (such as us helping them in a general forum thread, or here...see the number of threads in beginers started by 1 post posters that have never responded again) to try and validate their claims.
I will put away the tinfoil though and continue to try to help those that ask for it, but I am still concerned that it going more and more mainstream could turn round and blow up in our faces.....or it could get the ball rolling on something like Blizzard making their stance on multiboxing crystal clear by implementing keyclone directly into the client :D

...like Blizzard making their stance on multiboxing crystal clear by implementing keyclone directly into the client :DYea...I don't see that happening, ever.. :P

I know, but it would be the holy grail as it would take away every argument any QQ can make. Gone are the whole "we need 3rd party software to do it", now it would be there for anyone to use and but people would still need multiple accounts...guess then they just QQ that they should be able to play multiple characters from one account and it's still a premium service for those that can afford to pay more per month, so yeah, guess we wouldn't win then anyway :(
