2box on one computer

I'm not all new to multi-boxing. Been playing some Lineage II using two computers and one keyboard, it worked out just fine until my second screen decided to go poof on me.

Switching to WoW now to start dual-boxing there just to get a feeling before/if I move on to a 5 box. And I'd like to do this on one machine this time.

Just got one quick question.. How to get the two WoW-windows to be "used" simultaneously?

If you mean having 2 open at the same time then just open them both. If you're talking about key pressed and what not, there's a few stickies for AutoHotKey, Keyclone, etc.

Downloaded keyclone and soon realized I had to pay. That's not going to happen, especially not when I read the thread and saw that people had problems with it. And I'm not going to trust something I haven't tried..

So next up is AutoHotKey I guess.

Edit: And due to the heavy configuring that program needed I'm back on square one again...

Keyclone works wonderfully, actually. I haven't seen many people have issues with it that weren't easily solved.

The creator also frequents the board and updates it quite a bit, taking into account what people would like to see.

Actually I have tried myself Autohotkey and Keyclone.

Keyclone costs 10$ and it is less then the time I spend on digging for info about AHK scripts costs :)

It is much easier to start with Keyclone, you just download it, pay for it and ready to go. Problem with Keyclone is that shift/crtl etc. modifiers are currently not working (or maybe only for me since people say it works) but it seems the creator is working on it :)

Autohotkey is free but takes some time to configure it. Also there is problem: I dont know how to determine main and clone windows for 5-box so you cant press for example one button and other clients recieve other keys. Otherwise there is sticky guide about Autohotkey.

Got myself keyclone and even upped myself to a 4-box. Limited to 4 since I get 3 fps if I move a window to the 2nd screen I got now.
But that's another topic. Those 10 bucks was well spent!

Edit: BTW, extended keys are working now.

Try to use Horizontal Span in your vid card options. You will get much better fps using 2 monitors.

unit, are you using v1.6? the extended keys should be good now.

make copies of your keymaps if you think you may revert back to a previous version. (around v1.5 i changed the formats of the keymaps)

I'm using latest keyclone, but ya ctrl+whatever does not work. Do I need to do anything special? Other than this, keyclone works great.

Just a comment on "paying" for keyclone... vs Autohotkey.

Lets say you are a complete minimum wage monkey... you make $7 an hour, call it $5 an hour after taxes.

Thats two hours of your time to buy Keyclone.

Now lets assume that you are an experienced programmer who happens to work at McDonalds and has advanced scripting skills and experience with debugging and error handling... It will take you at least four hours to create an autohotkey script that handles SOME of the situations Keyclone will.

So, by my records, buying Keyclone means you can buy lunch 4 times with your employee discount... which means by buying Keyclone, you are actually getting 4 free lunches.
