I got banned on one of my 3 accounts, so it looks like i'm done with WoW. I did not get an email as to why.

I'll post the same thing I posted here ('http://dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&postID=59499#post59499')...

Also, keep in mind that, if this is indeed as the OP describes, it would not be the first time Blizzard had messed up and wrongfully banned a legitimate multiboxer...

Hi Franchesca,

From what I can see the initial suspension was due to suspicion that you may have been using a third party program to control your characters, not for the multi-boxing itself. Since then, the matter was investigated by our Account Administration team and you should have access to your accounts again.

There is no problem with you playing multiple characters, as long as you are the owner of the accounts and are in control of them (i.e. no third party programs, and no macro-usage that is not normally possible in-game).

Have fun playing ;)

If you didn't get banned for something legitimate (or you haven't gotten an e-mail that says WHAT you've been banned for) by all means pursue the matter further. Just because you got banned doesn't mean Blizzard's decision making is infallible.

Ok, so after everything that has been posted and discussed on the board here, you continue to take the risk and then when caught come here to whine and complain about Blizzard? And then you compound that by talking about continuing to break the ToS and EULA (a currently legally binding contract between you and Blizzard) by trading accounts?

Yeah, I think this community will be better off without your postings, but that might just be me.

could you be any more of a douchebag?

i was already 65 before i ready anything about the different account owner thing but that wasn't the reason it was banned. the game doesn't mean enough to me to continue to gripe about being banned, i had fun for the time i played so w/e.

and you are telling me you'd want to put that work in all over for a brand new character? get out of here... seriously.

Given I started on blackrock, leveled and geared 3 characters solo to 70 before starting 5 new characters and leveling them all to 70 then yeah, I'll tell you I'd put in the effort again but I certainly wouldn't call it work...it's fun, but then again since I do actually work I can see how someone that doesn't wouldn't know the difference

could you be any more of a douchebag? This is not wow general forums, its simple you where account sharing / had different names on your accounts.

This has been warned about a million times on these forums.

hopefully a lesson to anyone who risks using different account names, spend the extra few dollars at the start for your own accounts.

Sorry for posting after thread lock, Majestic, but I just wanted to emphasize that what Blizzard is requesting is perfectly reasonable given the circumstances.

Considering that you did actually break the rules and participated in account sharing, it's reasonable for Blizzard to ask proof of ownership for the remaining 2 accounts. After all, in their eyes, you could have stolen those too.

Basically you have to go take your forms of identification and have them signed/stamped by a legal notary. This process might seem complicated, but the fees are generally pretty cheap (under $20). So it is by no means excessive.

Anyway, just a comment to clarify for those who do have legal accounts and need proof of ownership for whatever reason. It sounds complicated, but it's really not. Blizzard provides you with the forms, you fill them out and bring your legal ID, and take it to a notary (they typically have them available at banks) to be signed and stamped for a small fee.
