View Full Version : Is This Possible?
I did some searching on here and either was searching wrong or there's nothing on this. But...I have a KeyClone question.
On KeyClone's website, it says that you can switch the window of your clone to your main's window and then back again by simply pressing F1, F2, etc. Does this work for KeyClone on another computer? Here's what I want to do.
Right now, when my main dies, I have to switch to my clones on their tiny screen'd versions of WoW. It's not really ideal being that I can't really see what's going on so it's normally a party wipe. I would love to be able to hit F1 or whatever and have it pull the screen of my clones from my other PC to my main.
Possible? Any help = much appreciation. Thanks!

Cross pc PIP not supported.
Darn. Oh well, guess my tank will have to learn to hold aggro better so my party doesn't wipe. Thanks for the quick answer!

I think it's more of a physical computer limitation than a keyclone problem; switching things between 2 different computers and monitors is a criss-crossing nightmare of coding I'd imagine and most likely a lag monster too...just not feasible with current technology still relying on cables and wires to connect it all lol
This is where Zin steps in and showcases future tech to fix this or something ;p

transferring the entire binary from the memory of one system, into another.. while also unhooking.. then hooking up all the dll calls.. just not really worth it.
now, some people have considered a video screen from the remote machine. do-able, but still massively bandwidth intensive.

Hey Rob, what you need to do is just put some voodoo in Keyclone so that our mains can never die!
Have that all fixed up in time for 1.8h? :D

If you have extra CPU power, you could actually set up a video stream of the remote clients using VLC. But it will be a pretty intensive thing.

well.. i dunno about never dying... but since i found out yesterday that everything in the game is referred to by ids...
by my internal version allows me to 'possess' other characters in the local area. players and npcs. (this would be the final stage of the agent smith program... )
it does get pretty confusing.. but essentially, as long as there is SOMETHING alive in the area... *I* never die.. i just keep switching to the POV of the newly possessed.
i'm pretty sure i shouldn't release this version...

I'm not quite sure what you're saying, you mean that you can, on your wow client, take over somebody else's toon? As in, you can control it? If so, it's amazing that that's possible from the client.
Yeah, I'd definitely be interested in seeing it. Be careful though, I'd hate to see you get in trouble for something like that.

Id like to do that also, but I am pretty sure thats not possible even for keyclone.

transferring the entire binary from the memory of one system, into another.. while also unhooking.. then hooking up all the dll calls.. just not really VMWare make a living out of this sort of thing ;) Take a look at vmotion if you have a spare moment https://www.vmware.com/products/vi/vc/vmotion.html
of course you also need a SAN or similar multiple access file storage
