First off.

As of yesterday, I am level 70! <o/

Happy as a horse! Today I grinded my first PvP epic. I needed 20 warsong gulch marks. I had to do 16 games to get the marks! (2 wins, 14 losses. O_o). Because almost every single wsg, I was trying to def... And everyone on horde just decided to def for the sake of it! Making games annoyingly long and totally going nowhere.

I play 4x elemental shaman, by the way. Anyhow, I'll continue.

I've done AB, AV, etc, with stunning effeciency. Those battlegrounds really rock. But warsong gulch, I've been just pulling my hair out. Two warsong's I called in a healer and we half-made wsg. Which was even more awesome as I was suddenly pretty much unkillable. But I got two questions. Oo

1) I suck at flagrunning. Is this a thing every multiboxer has, or am I doing something wrong? :o (Granted, my 8600hp and 150 resiliance isn't the best yet. :P )
2) Should I really bother with base defense, or should I just go attack? I seem to rock in base defense. Just the odd springing rogue with CloS on seems to be able to burst away, but 98% of the times, I was able to stop any attack it seemed. But, in almost all of those games, horde failed to get the flag anyways, so was pretty much wasted time. The few times I've been on midfield, I've had more trouble staying alive. On the other hand, it does force my team members to go slightly more offensive..

...So like, am I doing something wrong, or should I just have to take the losses as a multiboxer or consider making a 10 man premade to there with informed people? >.>

Oh well, on the bright side. I'm 70! *thumbs up*

The way I see it is it depends on the battlegroup, depends on the time of day (younger players generally earlier in the day, older players later), depends if players generally are trying to win a BG or do they want an easy WSG, AB, AV mark, PVP centric servers or PVE, etc etc... I bet if you had demographics researchers studying the WoW mechanics, a thesis could be written leading to a PHD in WoWology.

Other members here have said that bringing a large multiboxed crew into WSG is going to be difficult. Because of the type of game setup that WSG has, a larger multibox crew doesn't usually work well with taking up 30-50% of a match's slots (the servers you play with/against would help determine this). If you play as a single toon for a number of WSG matches, and the attitude appears to be from the beginning "lets just get this game over with and start a new match", then you play (I would) with a 2-5 shaman group and do what you need to do (I bet flag running isn't impossible, but it has to be difficult).

Normally a WSG flag doesn't take 4 people to defend (it can, but usually 2-3 people of the "right" classes (depends on the makeup of your team, and the team you are playing against). But it sounds like defense would be the best choice, IMHO.

One option you do have is to split your crew into 2 teams of two, or get the WSG tokens by playing each shaman individually. This probably isn't optimal, but you might find that having 40% of the WSG matches represented by your crew (I currrently play a druid and 3 shaman setup so I am not a 4 toon crew hater ;) ) doesn't work well some of the time.

In closing, mostly because my friends birthday beers are losing their effect, you are a member of this super cool community. Any questions we have (non-troll) normally get answered within a day or two with a set of good answers and a solid rack of opinion.

Congrats on making 70 (Yes! I remembered the original point!)... and have fun no matter what! 8) '

Peace!

Yeah, I'll PvP some more the coming weeks, it might just be a bad wsg day for horde. :D

Just that, despite me trying to order people to go offensive. When I was in defense, a healer I wouldn't mind, but there were almost always 3-4 other hordlings in defense with me, that just wouldn't budge, just to see me in action. Which leaves 1-3 for offense, and unless they coordinate, they have no chance. And coordination is something many people lack, I suppose. x)

Anyhow, at all times I try to keep my cool and wits, and I've little problem with that, hence me venting the frustration here. Muhaha. xD But it's kinda silly though. I might just resort to making 10 man premades. But since I was active in pvp in season two, and now leveled these toons. All the people I used to PvP with are pretty much fully decked out by now and rarely pvp grind anymore. x(

Thanks for the grats Xae, Dople and Skuggo. ^_^

Gratz on 70! Good luck with the grind =P

And I hear ya on the WSG BS. I avoid it unless I need the marks and normally I just end up quitting b/c the games are long and we generally lose (my main's Alliance). I just can't help but feel like I'm wasting my life away. I've pretty much given up PVP because the Alliance on my battlegroup doesn't know how to be team and they love to whine about that fact. Oh well, that's why I'm moving Horde. Too bad I'm not planning on PVPing it with my crew.

I know its probably not the best practice, but when time is limited...

Well I'm 69 now( Drood) and I loathe WSG, but I am playing it to get up about 50 or so marks so I don't have to run it at 70. It's just too painful.

I 5 box WSG just fine. The key is a) queue with 5 others that you know or b) communicate with the 5 pugs that you're playing with. Most of the time I'll play defense and the other 5 focus on running the flag. There are often times when Alliance = turtling asshats that I'll go run the flag back, and then hand it off to some one on my team to hold in our base. Then I go hunt down their Flag Carrier and 5x NS EM CL and return :P

P.S. Ghost wolf owns for flag running....

P.S.S. Instant cast Ghost Wolf PWNS flag running.
