Hello all I am new to post on the forums here but, I have been viewing the forums for some time now. I have 70 hunter 4 shaman combo on Korgath server that I have made and I gotten all the same slack of being a hacker and so forth that most the guys did. Not many people on my battle group have seen a multi boxer.
Well in spite of all that me and my group of guys have moved to Tichondrius server to chill with another group of friends.
The big question now is would a pally be better in pvp with 4 locks or a priest. I do see the pally living longer and being able to bubble anyone who is taking the beatting, this letting the locks get their dots off. But will it be that much better or worse? I also do know the priest can AE heal but seriously i don't remember it being that good of a heal, is it worth it?
Any info would be awesome having a debate with a few friends now=).

Think about warlocks, in both PvP and PvE really. What are their strengths?
Mobility is the first thing that comes to mind for me. Dot and run.
Think of a paladin -- what are their strengths?
Standing there, taking a crapload of a beating, and just healing thru it with plate and bubbles.
Now think of a priest -- strengths?
Variety of heals - instant casts, big heals, aoe heals, shields, hots....
Now make an informed decision. :)

The way I play my priest/lock group is very much what Vyndree siad - run and gun.
However...
If you play like me, my priest is leading the flock and sticks out like a SORE THUMB. Essentially I'm taking all the aimed shots, mortal strikes, backstabs etc and there are time I WISH I had a paladin as the lead because they can take a hit better.
To be honest, I rarely heal that much with my priest anyways - he's there to acquire targets and lead the the other characters around, but I play mostly BG's.
My answer to you if you are going to do PVE is stick with a priest.
If you do PVP, paladin is still viable because as a lead character they'll stay alive longer. My Priest dies all the time. The locks rarely get picked off because of soul-link, +300 resilience etc.
Or... do what Mudd does. Make it 5 locks. Now that is overpowered for PVP!

Hopefully the pali will give me a bit more survivability....

Thanks for the reply,
So ya Vyndree I was thinking that as well but like the guys said I remember my hunter who leads my shaman pack, she gets the brunt of the beating so I made her go survival spec.
Thats also why i was wondering about the pally. Now are you guys specking the pally as holy? see i have like 4 other pally friends playing but none are holy so would that make them any weaker of a target or just better at staying alive if they where holy?
And about the healing thing i have so many people telling they don't heal they 4 locks, like i spam hero chain heal on my shammies that this is where i guess my question came up on the priest AE heals being of use.
Thanks for all the info guys. And Thank you Vyndree for at least giving me the debate of both sides=).
I've done quite a bit of BGs (minimal arena) with 5x SL/SL locks. They have full vindicator and essentially full S1 gear which puts them at 375 resil and 14k HP unbuffed. With that kind of setup, on average, you will find that it takes 4-6 random BGers or 3-4 really well geared and/or coordinated people to do some serious damage to your group. To summarize, SL/SL warlocks in PvP gear are hard to kill. The worst scenario is when you have a few people who graveyard zerg you and keep you in combat preventing you from eating/drinking. You probably wouldn't require super heavy duty direct healing, you just need a healer that complements your team the most and wouldn't die in a couple seconds of hard focusing.
My recommendation would be a priest. Disc for PvP and Holy for PvE. Instants (shield, renew, PoM, CoH) will compliment your dps style of dot and run, and your AOE heals (PoH, CoH) will be an efficient way to heal up your lifetaps which you will most likely be casting simultaneously on your locks. As discipline, you lose some healing and CoH, but gain a lot of utility and become a very hard target to focus down. A fair trade IMO. Paladins need to stop to heal and have no HoTs. Both classes are very rugged healers, but the priest's abilities are too hot to resist. If you still think that priests are too squishy, don't forget all the CC you have at your disposal. Holy priests are the way to go for PvE unless you wan't a class that can tank.

Nobody is FORCING the priest to be "in the lead". It just makes it convenient for healing when you can use click2cast/clique instead of making a different targeting button for each person you want to heal.
I believe there's a youtube video where a person leads with a hunter instead of the priest...

If you're concerned with your priest being squishy, make sure you have the right spec (heavy disc) for pvp or move them out of the limelight and make them one of your /follow'ers.

for the 4 hunter grp and priest its interesting that they did not use an undead priest. for pvp would think undead would be best over BF priest

if you have aff locks a shadow priest adds soo much to lock grp. shadow form does help with damage but when u are under focus fire little matters.

Mudd are you able to do heroic instances with your 5 locks? Would it be possible to do it with 4 locks and a priest? If so what do you think that spec should be?
Thanks

Level 70 instances are quite a challenge with 5 locks. Some bosses have come down to drain tanking with a shatter rotation, and then a soulstone rotation :-\. I haven't tried any heroics yet, but I doubt that I would have much success without a healer. When I get more free time I will try to hit up some heroics with my holy priest, and 4 locks specced affliction.
