Unable to pass Colon to the other computer and Keymap

This is something that I've noticed since I've started multiboxing.

Here's my setup.

Main Computer - 3 WoW
2nd computer - 2 WoW

Scenerio 1:
On my Main computer, I hold down shift then semi-colon to get colon.
All 3 WoW on my Main Computer has colon.

On my 2nd Computer, I get semi-colon.

Scenerio 2:
On my 2nd computer, I hold down shift then semi-colon to get colon.
All 2 WoW on my 2nd Computer has colon.

On my Main Computer, I get semi-colon.


So I dabbed with Keymap, and still can't get it working.
On my main computer, I have 1 keymap that's associated with all 3 WoW:
Key: Rshift + Semicolon
Hotstring: Colon

On my 2nd computer, I have 1 keymap that's associated with all 2 WoW:
Key: Rshift + Semicolon
Hotstring: Colon

On the Keyclone window, it has Kmap(main) next to 3 of the WoW, and on the my 2nd it has Kmap(second) next to 2 of the WoW.

Am I missing something?

I'm sorry, I don't know much about hotstrings, but I wanted to point out that I LOL'ed in RL here when I read "Unable to pass Colon" and got a funny picture in my head.

Are you using a whitelist? I think he fixed most of the issues in a recent release but prior to that, Whitelist tended to ignore modifiers and just used base keys(like alt+3 came out as 3); try using a blacklist instead or upgrading to the newest version if you haven't, are the only 2 ideas I have, you'll have to get with Rob otherwise lol

The odd thing is that I have several macros that uses alt, ctrl and shift, and they all work. Just the colon doesn't.

I'm trying to just type in /use item:11111 in the chat box.

From the couple of tests that I've done, if the macro uses alt, ctrl and shift, it passes it.

If I'm typing in the chat box, or typing in the macro box (to create a new macro), it doesn't pass it.

I'm using 1.8g.

I've seen a few different ways the Shift or Ctrl keys weren't sent.
I think Keyclone knows about it though, from looking back through the bug notes for this version...at least with the problems I'm having anyway. :)

I dunno what to tell ya then...I use /cast Teleport: Moonglade, manually typed and passed all the time on my druids...never seen a use item layout like that though, /use Hearthstone or /use Goldenmist Special Brew has always worked fine for me, any reason yours needs a colon? (I ask because I basically dunno jack about macros and have no clue if that's part of some elaborate castsequence or not :P)

Do you have the latest version of keyclone? I just remembered that this was a bug (no modifiers passed) that he fixed in not this past release, but the one before.

I just remembered that this was a bug (no modifiers passed) that he fixed in not this past release, but the one before.For me it's gone from never passing the modifiers to an intermittent problem with the last two updates. I use alt-h for my ground mounts and sometimes it passes and sometimes it doesn't. It creates a funny scene when it doesn't pass and without thinking I hit alt-h again to get the clone to mount. Of course this causes the main char who just mounted to dismount. Being an idiot, I sometimes hit alt-h again :-) Other players must think I'm doing some weird mount See-saw game. :wacko:

I never use modifiers, so its never been a problem.

Needs the colon because that's just part of the syntax.

The reason why I'm using (or would like to use) this is because, instead of typing:

/use Darnarian's Scroll of Teleportation

I just type

/use item:35230

It's shorter, don't want to hotkey just for this (ran out anyways), and easier to use... sort of.

For myself, modifiers just doesn't pass in the chat window, and the macro creation window.

If there's a work-around, that'll be great! :thumbup:

Don't have room. 3 different class == More buttons used.

That suggestion is pretty much the same as suggesting that you just click a spell button for each toon to cast something instead of using Keyclone. :whistling:

i have to admit, i didn't know wow had item-ids available via macros (but if i think about it... i guess the add-ons would have to have access)

anyhow, i was looking into the modifier key last night.. before i got 'slacker-ized' and played for a few hours (oh noes! i'm getting sucked back in!! as is.. i can't wait to check the AH... i'm a total AH addict). anyhow... i did recognize there is an issue when sending xp to vista.. and will be addressing it for v1.8h

as for your colon... well.. that's your business :D

I'm having problems passing modifiers through the white list just using one Vista 64 box. I saw that you posted earlier that you were looking into this issue but now I noticed that you also said it looks like a xp -> vista problem, hope this isn't the case since I could really use those modifiers on my Vista 64 box.

Not to derail, but could you post how to find the itemid's? This would GREATLY shorten quite a few of my macro's :).

I noticed that you are using RSHIFT in the keymap... I didn't know Rob had fixed the issue distinguishing Right and left modifier keys (I know there is the check box to distinguish left and right but I could never get it working (even on a single machine) and always had SHIFT , ALT etc passed to WOW instead of RSHIFT + RALT

wow required SHIFT and ALT ... and would ignore LSHIFT and RSHIFT (although i have read they may have changed that behavior)
