View Full Version : Really impressed with pally + 3 shamans + priest @ 70 (pve)
Hey all, I have just dinged 70 this weekend, and so far I've cleared 2 instances (mechanar and botanica for my arc key) and I'd have to say i'm really impressed with how powerful this group comp is.
(FYI i skipped the 3rd and 4th bosses in botanica and the 2nd boss in mech because I didn't have much time)
I remembered these instances being pretty tough when my first character (druid) hit 70, and the ease with which i am clearing through these 2 instances is very encouraging.
It is especially powerful during the 2 "burn fights" in botanica where the boss heals and you have to burn them ASAP. 3 fire elementals + bloodlust just drops those bosses like nobody's business.
On a side note, just before I hit 70 i went into steam vaults and got spanked around by the first boss (the water elemental lady) many times due to her aoe hurricane thing. Any advice? =-P

For first SV boss, I spread everyone out, DPSed down the elemental adds, and did the fight standard. Do you hardware or Software box? I've got mine set up hardware wise so I could just push forward on an indidvidual keyborad if anyone got stuck in AOE. If you hardware, that should work. If not, maybe someone with Keycolon knows?
I softbox so I would have to select a window and move with the mouse, if i wanted to move a character individually.
On my more successful attempts (11% or so) I would have all 4 appendages on follow from main. When a storm occurred, i would move the main out of the storm with the alts following. Problem with this is theres a delay stackup:
1) I notice that storm happens [0.25 seconds latency + 0.25 second reaction time = 0.5 seconds]
2) I get my main out of the storm [0.5 seconds or so]
3) alts see that my main is out of the storm [0.25 seconds latency]
4) alts send follow commands to server or w/e [0.25 seconds latency]
so best case it's 1.5 seconds before the alts get out of the storm, that's assuming no one got cycloned and whatever. So best case, everyone in the group takes at least one tick from every storm, worst case, one of the characters dies from it: they only had 5.5k hp, which is probably part of the problem. Next time I step into that place I will have 5/5 of the blue pvp set, socketed with +9stam gems, which will hopefully help.

Yeah, more Stamina will help a graet deal. I know a lot of players don't use it too much on an individual level, but I would say its utility is much higher in multiboxing PvE stuff, if only because it buys you a lot more leeway on your reaction time. Personally, I swear by my S1 filled with 12 Stamina Gems on all of them.

Set up a key bind to make all your toons strafe left or right, then after you've moved everyone out of the storm, hit your key to make your alts follow the main.

There's a spot just inside her cave to the right where you can put all your guys and the cloud won't spawn on top of you. The room seems intentionally designed that way for healers to stand or something - who knows, usually I just stand there and go all out on her and ignore the adds - may not work as nicely with your group composition; however I do this boss on a regular basis with only 4 shamans in a group, no 5th person. The adds will despawn when she dies.

Right side of the cave if facing her, you can move there without agro'ing pre-pull. The cloud likely doesn't form because there is a bit of an overhang, and if the cloud formed on top of you it would be doing so partially inside a wall. I tried this also with low level 5th member (lvl 61 compared to the 70's) standing in the open just near the entrance of the cave with the rest in the safe spot and he never got the cloud either, so I can only assume he was lucky or its tied to the agro list somehow.
