View Full Version : Question about TrinityBars

So I use Trinity and I have noticed something odd happening with the Spell buttons. I use a mix of Spell buttons and Macro buttons. I have noticed however that when I get a new rank of a new spell at the trainer, the Spell buttons show the new rank's tooltip but will only actually cast the old rank of the spell as it was when I dropped the spell into the Spell button. This doesn't happen with the Macro buttons (I don't include a rank in the macro and they always just cast the highest rank). So now whenever I level I have to ensure that I take the time to replace the spells manually that I get a new rank for and are in Spell buttons.

This is a little annoying and prone to error and so I would like to have the same sort of support that the regular WoW action bars provide where they automatically use the highest rank for spells dropped on the bar. Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this and/or knows of a fix for it or a Trinity option that might enforce this. I tried looking myself but Trinity is not the most helpful with tooltips seemingly only for things that are glaringly obvious as to what they do! :)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Team Harry.

It is not very helpful but just use macro buttons instead. I have had no end of headaches with spell buttons, perhaps it is a lack of understanding but I have had to delete entire bars to get rid of them sometimes. I only use macro buttons now

Hmm yeah I hadn't thought of that. I guess the very small initial pain of setting up a simple macro (/cast Conjure Water) far outweighs the pain of verifying every toolbar on each toon every 2 levels until 70. I will make this change for sure! Thanks for the help!

The Harry's thank you too (is it wrong or abnormal that I have 5 different personalities now that I have started to 5-box?... :))

I've been using Trinity ever since FlexBar got broken, and I have never had this issue.

It could be another addon causing the problem. Make sure to get Trinity Bars here ('http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info7810-TrinityBars2.0.html') and never get the beta version unless you're willing to have bugs. wowinterface.com is the only place that has the most current trinity bars.

I haven't come across this particular problem myself either, but that may be that I macro absolutely everything anyway :P so ay, macro might be the way :S

Not unless you start having discussions with yourself. I had no idea how irritating I could be.. I mean.. nevermind.. seek counseling before it's too late!

I think I may have gotten it from Curse since I tend to get all my addons there.
