[WoW] Aldor and Scryer dualboxing? Am I in for a world of pain?

Nine o clock struck, I took my prescribed heavy medication and logged onto my druids. All seemed fine, I finished quests and hit 60. I took the tour around Shattrah without failing the quest, and then it was time to choose my faction. First, the alt druid, Hoofhorn, Scryer. Then I switch to the other window with Hornhoof, I click Scryer.

"Reputation with the aldor has increased? Oh for"

GMs unable to set it to scryer, I go over the calculations.. approximately 5400 dampscale crocs have to be killed. A few curses later I decided I'm going to try to stick to it. The hearths are set to default in Scryer, that inn is one I can catform out of into Lower City safely.

Am I in for a world of pain? Is anyone else doing this, and has gotten it to work?


Pros:
+ Faster reputation gains over both characters, a huge benefit doing quests and instances
+ I can kill NPCs with healing assistance on either faction rise in Shattrah

Cons:
- Doing quests together for said factions is going to be a bitch, especially Shadowmoon Valley
- Gotta guide them around solo when turning things in and shopping up on the rises

GM won't change it because you can do it yourself... with a whole lot of painful grinding.

Questing is going to be a pain, as you won't be able to do it together.

You really only have 2 options, keep them different, or change one by grinding.

All of my toons are Scryers except one. That one is going to stay Aldor, but I doubt I'll be doing any Aldor quests unless I really want to. When the next expansion hits, it won't matter either way.

It's still worth trying the GM route if you think it was caused by a UI glitch. Those have been known to happen :)

On one hand, I was under the influence of some heavy medication at that particular time, half-knocked on my arse.

On the other hand, on the alt client I clicked the first/topmost option which was Scryer, and on the main client that option appears to have been Aldor.

On the other, other hand, turning the aldor-scryer repgrind into HALF the grind that it was with turnins, is truly awesome.

How can it be half the grind? Without doing any research (I know, lazy), I haven't done the grind in over a year... isnt there a limited amount of quest rep that you get? Isnt most of the rep gained by turnins? Or is there a set of mobs that give rep all the way to exhalted?

In theory the grind is halved.

Two characters, X scryer turnins and Y aldor turnins drop while leveling up. Both expected to hit honored with their respective factions. If both were scryer, they'd have to share the scryer turnins and it'd be slower.

I can live with catform sneaking out of Scryer rise down to Lower City and running between banks.

Look at it this way, all of the drops that you turn in for aldor/scryer faction rewards are random, so trying to get 5 characters all on the same faction means a LOT of marks to turn in. Having aldor and scryer means that the aldor marks and scryer marks can be better spread between their respective characters. Yeah, usually you can sell/trade for the ones you need, but you now have a use for either of them, so u can save some time not trading, and not visiting the AH.
