So I took my 5 man pve team (see sig) into SFK for the first time yesterday. Was easy going until I got to the end and faced off with Arugal. Got him down after 4 wipes but talk about a pain in the butt!

Hard hitting void bolts that have a cast range of a bazzilion miles
Teleporting around the place making it hard to keep LoS on him
Turning my tank into a werewolf and wtfpwning my priest.
AoE stun if I tried to tank him too close to the party.
Unable to keep agro because of all of this.
And then after all of that, he dropped the Meteor Shard (1 pally and 4 casters, gee thanks Arugal, so kind of you!).

Anyway, I got him down in the end and feel pretty happy about it. It was by far the toughest fight I have had on my team so far because everything he does is pretty much a weakness of the boxing team. Just thought I would vent and see if anyone else had problems with him. What were your strategies? Where did you fight him?

Team Harry.

My strategy was to leave my healer on the entrance balcony.
I didn't gain aggro with my tank. I let my DPSers get aggro... Much easier to reposition them after that /follow and continue DPSing.
I ran up the side ramp not the stairs to get into position.

I left my entire group at the entrance to his room, it puts them in range and LoS to most of the places he teleports to. The tank ran up the stairs with my 2 pets and tanked him. Dropped very quickly and easily with this strategy.

I had been trying to kite him out into the stairwell where you come up to the houndmaster's room hoping that the tight quarters would keep him in LoS. Nuts to that idea! In the end, placing my guys in the room on the stairs near the doorway helped em get LoS.

That worked for me too. My first time I tried to get an optimal position and would up putting all 4 shammies out of LOS. The 2nd time I just left them at the entrance and nuked him before he even got a chance to teleport.
