its the pop subject of the month, daily cries.
Everyone who complains about it usuaily gets dominated.
Seriousally i dont see everyones problem, its usuaily directed at battleground action, so you come up against 1 multiboxer today and now its a massive issue.
Start crying when there are multiboxers in every BG you enter.

I'M IN DAT THREAD.
DEFENDING OUR BOXZ.

Gets fairly annoying how often this sort of thread comes up in the GD room nowadays.

I do wonder if someday Blizzard might just cave and rule out multiboxing. :-(

staying patient and being polite on all threads is how we win the day

Ashamed to admit, I got a little angry at one poster in the thread. I'll be making sure to review my posts before actually posting them (using a technique I've learnt at work a long long time ago...lol).

Oh yay, more afternoon reading. So far, these threads have yet to get old for me but I have noticed they are becoming more frequent. Ah, our wonderful growing community.

Must convert more =P

these threads have yet to get old for me but I have noticed they are becoming more frequent. It's the flavor of the month. Complaining about arena and multiboxing are all the rage right now. As predicted, the new argument is "I don't care what Blizzard says, it's illegal!!!" Which kind of does our work for us by being self-dismissive. The other remains the old standby, "they allow it because it's extra money", but that argument is so utterly stupid that I usually just ignore it.

It would be interesting to see the numbers in regards to multiple accounts owned by one person (same name) vs. single accounts owned. I know a lot of people have two accounts for numerous reasons - so you'd have to query like 3+ to get semi-accurate numbers of multiboxers.

Its probably like less then 2% of the overall WoW population. That woudl go a long way to debunking the "its because of the money" argument.

That and the fact that Blizzard have been long time supporters of multiboxing even when they didn't make any money from it. How many accounts in D2:LOD did I have? I couldn't even remember, but it was lots, and lots and lots.

I think that my favorite arguement FOR blizzard allowing multiboxing is the fact that damn near every MMO before WoW has allowed (and sometimes encouraged) multiboxing. It's been around long before this game, and will continue on to other MMO's. Let the QQers cry all they want.

Yeah, I agree with this. It's so tempting to log on to the forums and start calling people morons (if the forums were working that is), but its much more effective to politely explain why they are wrong. Again and again and again...

assuming that most mboxers are members of this sight, and taking into account that many members aren't boxing here (ie a rough indication of the amount of mboxers), multiplying that number by10 (by 2 for a bit of leeway - ie 9000 boxers... and by 5 for the amount of accounts - altho many have less) it should be an overestimated ~45000 accounts equalling roughly 0.5% of WoW accounts again rounded up :P

If anyone has more accurate numbers on the amount of boxers I would like to know :)

I can't resist...
Vegeta, what does the scouter say about their account level?!

I started posting in that first thread. I am trying to list the DISADVANTAGES that multiboxers face in PVP. I think that it's better to list those for most close minded people. Once they see that they CAN kill us with relative ease if they do specific things, I think its more likely that theyll shut up.

crikey, blimey and something else..

Ok i just had a look back over the member numbers.. I didn't think we were getting that many new ones but, wow!

so it's more like 6k members.. by those same calculations that means roughly 0.7% (rounded up again)

yeah, but how many of those new members are just qq trolls that signed up hoping to find access to the super-leet-secret powerleveling-for-fun-and-profit forums in hopes of finding some damning new evidence to throw before the trial by media that is the forums?

That was the idea :) Personally i think it's a lot less, but in order to accommodate a huge error margin, ie overestimating by miles, I decided to say double the members here and 5 accounts per member :)

and heheh, I like that first thread...I just dropped my bombshell on it, get rid of PvP and there can't be any more whining about PvE multiboxing, can't wait to see how that goes down :D

wow.. just spent a little time going over that second post and omg... that is just embarrassing.. how can someone be so dense :pinch:

I mean I admire how ppl tried to explain things at the beginning, but it became obvious from the get go that one couldn't reason with this person.. I found it quite amusing how If you read only what she is saying, she contradicts herself and doesn't practice what she preaches over and over and over.
