View Full Version : Keyclone Has Stopped Working....

I have been reading the site all day doing my research. Followed the excellent step by step in FAQ: step-by-step basic keyclone setup ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=2074') and was up and running for a few minutes. Then all of a sudden Keyclone stopped working altogether. I have rebooted 4 times and tried to get it to work but every time I try to launch it (As an Administrator) I get a Vista Popup indicating Keyclone has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop yada yada yada.... I JUST paid for this like 10 minutes ago and having problems. Seems like $19.99 down the drain but I dont see any posts to indicate that anyone else is having the issue. Any help out there?

Any help would be appreciated.I believe if you PM your issue and code given to you when you bought keyclone to the user Keyclone here he can fix it, or at least help you with it.

definitely sounds like something weird. i'm pretty sure no one else is having this type of issue (or i'd hear about it quick.. kind of like this...)
for these types of problems, vent or a phone call might be the easiest to work it out. you can call me at: 727-452-1319

I'm having a similar issue, i just purchased Keyclone, however i'm running a Xp machine. I've sent you an email hopefully its a quick fix

Why not just post a fix/workaround to this issue. I have exactl the same problem I have narrowed it down to keyclone accessing the network. With my firewall blocking everything it starts up without it it does not :).

With my firewall blocking everything it starts up without it it does not :).I think I figured it out - compatibility mode xp sp2 and run as admin :) I also deleted the inf file.

for the record.. the suggested fix:
---
try removing keyclone.ini and then restarting keyclone. that might help.
if you are on vista, please remember to 'run as' admin by right-clicking on the shortcut.
also, i have recently learned that the directory ownership privileges
seems to matter for vista. make sure admin and user have the same
rights on the directory (i believe the rights were set upon install...
so if you didn't install and run keyclone from the same user, it might
mix up the rights).

I just installed Keyclone tonight and I am getting the message saying that "Keyclone has stopped working". The application worked just fine until I registered the product. I tried all the tricks I could think of Rebooting, running as Admin, in different compatibility modes, uninstalling and reinstalling in a new folder. I made sure that I had permissions on both folders I installed in. I looked for a .ini file in the Keyclone program directory but could not find one, and yes before anyone asks hidden files\protected OS files are displayed . Any help in resolving this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Just purchased Keyclone today was working for about 40 minutes, then i logged back in and it comes up with an error say "keyclone has stopped working". Rather frustrating:((

there was a crash bug in v1.9h
i have just posted a hotfix for this on the main site. please update your local copy and you should be good to go
