So, I have about 4000 g on each toon right now. My mages are lacking in gear a little, and are all tailors.

Getting all 5 tailoring epics would be nice for my 3 mages.

Here's a little background though...

I might do a couple of more 5-mans, but not much.
I'm doing Arena but getting about 250 points each week because I suck at arena.
Not doing BG, because the alliance on my battlegroup loses all BGs and I've already had my share of BG with the OLD system and quite bored of it.

So until the next expansion, I'll be doing a little bit of dailies and maybe a couple of 5-mans. And 10 arena games per week.

The next expansion is said to not have as big of a gear jump as it did with BC, so the tailoring epics *might* survive a little bit longer with the next expansion.

The flying epics on the other hand, I haven't really had the need for it, or the eagerness of getting it. I'm doing fine without it... but it's just one of those things to get when you're 70.

So which would you do? ?(

Gear? [NO]
PvP Gear [NO]
Epic Flying Nount [YES]

Epic flying mount will be the only thing that really affects you for the next expansion.. greens will replace blues and such in the next expansion just like TBC did for regular WoW even if blizz says they won't be replacing gear that much.. Right now the tailoring epics aren't even that great, replaceable by t4 or equiv or season1+ pvp gear or arena gear..

I believe Epic flying mounts will still be the fastest mounts in the next expansion and if not then they'll be a pre-req to get a faster one.. so I'd get epic flyers, I have 3 myself on 3 toons. Love them to death, regular flyers blow.

I disagree, because honestly, how much flying do you really do? I have 2 70's now, and quad'in some shammy's right now, at level 53...and I dont fly around that much at all. Sure, with the new expansion coming up, you may replace gear, but hell, YOU have to survive those few months :) I think gear is the most important issue for any character, and unless you're seriously farming your butt off, how often do you plan on flying? Also, even if you may have just rerolled, youve taken this much time to get these mages geared up, so what is your chances of immediately gearing these guys up when the xpac hits? As always, its just my opinion!! :) Gear > Flying on birds!

And if you think of it this way, once you make the epic mage gear you think you'll never upgrade from it before the next expansion? I guarantee you'll upgrade it in the over 6 months you have till the next expansion.. you can't upgrade from a epic flyer.

Epic Flyer = faster outlands questing, faster dailies = more income and can then get the mage tailoring epics also.
You can farm easier, faster, great for helping friends, etc.

Flyer>gear, the gear will get replaced before the expansion, the flyer won't.

don't know where you heard that the expansion won't have a big gear jump. The gear isn't going to be good, the epic flyers will.

But seriously, it's not hard to just farm both.

Id say buy the flyers, then farm the rest of the goldz

Most MB'ers make thier money doing dailies, which is tons of cash. Once you get epic fliers, it will be even easier.

would love to know exactly how many people have made the gold they spent on epic flyers back just becuase of the extra speed. I'd say less than 5% of solo players and way less than that for multi boxers.
