I am wondering if there were any performance hits or other negative effects by having bigger windows that are overlayed on top of each other as opposed to smaller non-overlapping windows?

Thanks

bigger window == larger area == more pixels

more pixels == higher bandwidth either across the buss and/or on the graphics board. it also means more processing as the scene is rendered, causing an increase in cpu usage

you could reduce the effect by radically reducing the maxfpsbk ... 2 or 4 would be good enough

try reducing the screen res... it would also give you less pixels to render/ generate/ push ... yielding better performance and lower cpu/ gpu usage

please excuse my noob-ness but what is the maxfpsbk? Iam guessing it is something like Max Frames Per Sec but I could be wrong.

Thanks

sorry... maxfpsbk == maximum frames per second while in the background

it's a wow setting.. very useful... and can be found on the command panel on keyclone

Anyways, I'm having some difficulties on overlaying, myself.

I have two windows, 127 and 128. I check the "always on top" box for 128, yet 127 is called in front of it when selected.. I tried the "lock-in foreground" button, but that doesn't work. =\
I checked your website, and it said this was a former bug that has been fixed. Am I doing something wrong?

Sorry for Hi-Jacking the thread a bit, but I figure if I'm running into this problem, maybe this mackenziemi will make the same mistake as I am? =)
Also saves forum front-board space.

And also, I find that KC automatically changes the screen-res... Or did I forget another setting there, too? >.>

@MBlooksfun
hmmm.. that shouldn't happen. i'll check that

as for screen res.. no, keyclone does not touch screen res. if you meant game res, then yes.. keyclone does modify it for maximizer (there is a change ready for the next release that improves the look of maximized screens... we'll see when it gets released)

@Keylord.

Hmm.. Ok, awesome. =)

Thanks for uber-quick response, too!

And yeah, I meant wow-res. >.>
