Gathering Profession macro?

I saw in the Macro Codex ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&postID=39741#post39741') that there is a macro for skinning. I was wondering if there is anything for mining or herb gathering?

I'm pretty sure mines and herbs aren't interactive objects in the game as corpses can be targeted.

Dirtii is right. The skinning macro relies on the fact that the main/focus can target the corpse and this allows the follower to target through them, herbs and nodes cannot be targeted and so the macro won't work.

Personally I do like having one of the two minimap based gathering professions on my main anyway that way I've got them displayed on the minimap on the primary screen- saves me either checking follower's screens every few seconds or missing valuable mats.

What about herbalists' ability to "pick" certain mobs? and likewise miners with certain elementals? anyone tried this?

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe that there is anything in there regarding a macro for mining or herb gathering, which is what the OP is asking about. After looking around on the forums it seems as though it's not possible to mine or herb with a macro... ;(

My guess is that for mining/herbing corpses you might have to do something similar to the recently discovered looting macro.

I don't think there are "/cast herbalism" or "/cast mining" commands so even on the minable and herbable corpses you will still need to click. I could be wrong and I am making up words as I go but perhaps this information might be useful to someone however cryptic or of dubious correctness.
