Couple of Boxer haters on MMORPG.com have started making threads. Take a gander ('http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/post/1958563/thread/175588#1958563')

Couple of Boxer haters on MMORPG.com have started making threads. Take a gander ('http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/post/1958563/thread/175588#1958563')People are always going to hate on that which they don't understand...

I gaurantee that 95% of those hating on multi-boxing have no effin clue how we do what we do. The fact that they constantly put us in the same category as gold-farmer/sellers and botters/account sellers shows just how unbelievably ignorant they are. Hell grand majority of the time when someone sends me some hate msgs its because they are automatically under the impression that I'm going to be selling off the toons once I hit 70. They have no clue that's its actually so I don't have to pug with retards such as themselves mostly :P, and also its a fun new aspect of the game for me that I haven't done over and over again. Hell thinking up new combos for new teams is a blast in and of itself!

Either way I for the most part ignore these people. Their arguements are old and tired and completely unoriginal.

Yeah a large chunk of them seem to assume you're gonna sell the chars at 70...these people are fucking retards who don't understand the concept of FUCKING HAVING FUN doing it, they can't fucking give someone the benefit of the doubt, they're fucking stupid pessimistic twats, every fucking last one of them. [/f-bomb vent] :P But seriously, why can't they possibly imagine someone does it because it's new and fun? I enjoy myself, I solo'd most of the time anyways and since I 3box I can bring in friends and guildies anytime I want, hell I took guildies along to SM while powerlvling my shaman last night lol

It just amazes me the sheer level of stupidity some people can display and makes me wonder how humanity managed to survive eras where they thought drilling holes in your skull released evils spirits...let alone the retardation we see nowadays

These people don't have the patience, devotion, skill, willing, knowledge, and in top of that, money to do what multiboxers do. And so, they whine. Their just jealous...

All I can say is, something someone much better at words than me said....

Normally I get the philosophical quotes but this one evades me...how would blind people know he has one eye? How would they see him to stone him? :P

Probably it was a one-eyed woman complaining to them, why noone noticed her new hairstyle ...

^This.^

Also, I'm sure there are some that just wouldn't enjoy the playstyle, and that's fine. But I think far many more simply do not understand it as has been stated many times already. People lash out at things they fear and don't understand.

and so... they lash out.

next time, try to resist the urge to converse (i fail at this sometimes)... just target them on your main... then:

While leveling through The Barrens, I was solicited, TWICE, by people wanting to buy one of my Shaman once I hit 70.

They were shocked when I said they were not for sale, and that they are for personal use. Why would you ever want 3 Shaman???

keyclone

if selling accounts is illegal.. so would soliciting for one.

the haters could start to try and entrap multiboxers...

how about we do a little pre-emptive strike? screen caps and reports to gms? (or am i being too strict?)

BigPeeler says:
2nd, it starts turning the game into less of a game, and more work then anything. This gives an unfair advantage over people who either A. can't dual-box, or B. would rather PLAY the game... lolwut? Some people consider faction grinding "work" and not play. Would this person then suggest that faction grinds should be removed? And LOL @ the "would rather PLAY" comment. Really does show the inability to imagine what it's like doing collection quests or pretty much anything else with 5 people to worry about. :P

I've seen MORE content since I've started multiboxing... I can complete quest chains and go into instances that I would have had to PUG before... and I do NOT PUG.

Eteocles

Exactly Don...I NEVER grinded any faction whatsoever pre-bc, NONE. Well, except AV on my troll rogue but that doesn't count :p No furbolgs, no cen hold, no inter-faction reps, nothing. Because I do indeed think, as you said, faction grinding, or any goal-less exp grinding, is work.

I PLAY the game just fine, and playing is in the eye of the beholder ;p

I've seen MORE content since I've started multiboxing... I can complete quest chains and go into instances that I would have had to PUG before... and I do NOT PUG.NO JOKE!!! It is SOOOOOO much nicer to have a group of 5 ppl who...
1. Don't take 30 mins just to get to the freaking instance!!!
2. Don't bitch and argue about party make-up.
3. Don't go AFK every 5 mins w/o telling anyone.
4. Are paying attention for every single pull.
5. Don't bitch about loot drops.
6. Don't get emo and ninja DC because they can't have their way.

P.S. (It's WAY worse on alliance side then horde side)

So I see people ask all the time "Why would you multibox?" Read that list then then I'll ask you "Why wouldn't I multibox if I have the means too? So I can socialize with a bunch of whiny little asshats and retards who complain about everything under the sun and are convinced that they are right and everyone else is in the wrong? Yea that sounds like a great time to me!" I still run groups with friends and guildes. I get plenty of socializing in! There's no shortage of that. They only thing I'm cutting out is socializing with people who aren't worth me wasting my time and energy on.

I just ignore them -- much like I ignored the guy at lunch today that I met on the sidewalk, who was talking to the broom he'd tied to a piece of rope and was dragging around like a dog on a leash.

Most people seem to hate multi boxing when i comes to PvP. They see it as an unfair advantage.......... First off... 1 vs 5 will never work... enough said. If you find it unfair find friends and come at me... A well grouped 3 man team took my 5 man team down no problem... They were able to work together and move all over the place, while my 4 alts just followed and were unable to swing around to get line of site. Right now I think multi boxing is the new racist fad going around. People always need something to hate and it seems we are the new fad. :S

People always need something to hate and it seems we are the new fad. :SWell they took Ret paladins away from them which they had for years to poke at, make fun of and hate on...What are they suppose to do now to faslely boost their egos? Got to have something to blame their problems on, cause CLEARLY the problem does not lie with them but rather everyone around them!

The discussion flared up again on the EU support forum:

The same guy, Fiskerdin, is pretty much on a weekly basis starting these discussions. You know the drill, ignores everything people say and just keeps repeating it's automation and an unfair advantage.

My personal favorite is to hit my spreadout macro and then face all the toons at the noob...

/target noob
/lick noob

hit that follow macro and go on with my business.

Gotta love those types of people. Just refuse to listen to anything, starting shit over stuff they don't understand, or simply for the sake of starting shit. Goddamn you internet!

"Blizzard says it's okay." <--- that is pretty much all that matters at this point. Not only that they said it's okay, they did so in a manner that pretty much clears up any questions about it. So if someone wants to ignore that and insist that it must be stopped, I don't really care much. I will still discuss the issue on the WoW forums from time to time, but it's been pretty much cleared up as well as it can, and there aren't many arguments left, aside from "I don't care what Blizzard says, it's wrong!!!" And they can argue that until their lips fall off, such a dumb and self-defeating argument is best left to stand on its own.

If people want to run to other forums to complain, more power to them. The responses I've seen in the past from Blizzard reps make it pretty clear that they don't see a time when they will outlaw multiboxing, though they will always reserve the right to do so if it becomes necessary. People complaining about it are spitting into the wind at this point. That's not my moisturizer of choice, but to each his own!

I just attribute most of the whining to the same phenomenon that makes people whine about class balance. I think that "Waaaaaa! Multiboxing is unfair and should be banned!" is equivalent to "Waaaaa! Warlocks are SOOO OP its not even funny! Nerf Locks, Buff Hunters!"

They only thing I'm cutting out is socializing with people who aren't worth me wasting my time and energy on.Don't forget being able to go afk when you want. I did Underbog last week. Got halfway through the instance, then decided I was hungry. So I got up, made dinner, ate, and came back to my computer (Luckily before I got auto-logged) and continued on my way. Before I started multiboxing I'd have to just wait until the instance was over. I don't like to go extended-afk on other people, or ninja-log.
