Hey guys,

I just hit 68 on my elemental shammies, and so now i have both earth and fire elementals. Was curious if anyone has some advice, or tips, as to proper usage of these guys.

Some issues I've had so far, in no particular order are:

1) They don't seem to get any thing from priest group heals (prayer of healing, circle of healing. not sure about prayer of mending), which is kind of annoying. Havent' yet tried chain heals on my tank to see if they bounce to the elementals.
2) What's the best way to get your enemy on the fire elemental's aggro list? they seem to attack things that do damage to the casting shaman. What about shaman's group members? Shaman's other totems? I have had some trouble in certian cases getting them to aggro, wondering if anyone has tips on this.
3) I read on WoWhead that they scale nicely with spell damage. Should i be sure to use fire elemental when i have trinkets up to get a little damage boost?

1) I cast chain heal directly on elemetals. Works well.
2) I just train mobs into them
3) Good idea, I'll have to try that. :)

1) do you know if the chain heals bounce onto other party members? or just bounce between elementals? Chain heal says if cast on party members it will only bounce to other party members. So im guessing you wont be able to cast chain heal on the pally to heal the elementals =( since the elementals not considered part of the party, sadly.

Do you use a macro for this?

/target fire elemental
/target earth elemental
/cast chain heal
would probably work
2) Is this the only reliable way of getting them to aggro? How close does the mob have to come to the elemental to aggro?

thx for the input, id like if anyone else had anything, thx a lot =-D

BTW does anyone know how the prayer of mending mechanic would work for elementals?

I noticed last night that if i just chain heal my party when standing next to elementals it DOES NOT jump to the pets. I'd need to test it, but I imagine this means that a chain heal on an elemental will also not jump to other elementals.

I use my "Beaten" macro for boss fights where I'm using earth elementals. It just heals whoever the mob is whacking:

#showtooltip
/cast [target=focustargettarget,help,nodead,exists] Healing Wave(Rank 7); [target=target,help,nodead,exists] Healing Wave(Rank 7); [target=player] Healing Wave(Rank 7)
/assist focus

I tend to just let fire ones die if they get aggro.

Nice one, I never thought of that!
