View Full Version : Using multibox and chatting.
I use Multibox to dual box Drano Shammies and was wondering what ways people get around issues such as chatting etc.
As it is now I have disabled the / key yet when I type.. stuff starts flying everywhere on my second box lol.
Thoughts on this issue and how some people are getting around it?..

On the Multibox Server applet under Broadcast theres the check boxes for Keyboard and Mouse. The "Key" button next to them allows you to assign a hotkey to turn that broadcast off.
Smart man. :)
Now just to set that and each time I need to retort with something in guild chat I can without opening 20 windows on my second box. Thank you for pointing that out.
To add to the question, what key is unused and would make for a good choice in peoples oppinion? For example I use my push to talk in vent set to the App key as that isnt used in WOW by default.

Don't sweat it, my 3rd day at this and I've run into the same issues.
I actually gave up multibox for synergy w/ broadcast (and dameware for backup) because I don't have to have all the extra keyboards/mice under foot.
As for keys, someone somewhere suggested "`" (key next to 1)
That would be the "Tilda" key if thats what you are referring to. ~

Technically ~ is the shift version of `, though most people call the key "tilde" because no one knows what a ` is. :)

I use the \ key for my broadcast key. This is only because I use the ~ key for auto-run (got tired of my numlock doing unexpected things).

My choice for the broadcast toggle key is ScrollLock, which is typically not bound to any function in game or in windows. The downside is that it is not close to the normal WASD-position of the left hand.
