So I finally finished up the TEN freakin' games of Simon last night so I could work on Ogri'la dailies. Between latency, lag and "OgriLazy" not being as stable of a mod as it used to be, it took me about twenty-five tries to get all ten completed.

I am thinking about heading to bed after a couple bombing runs and wrangling netherays... then I see the quest "To Rule the Skies". Figure "what the heck, how hard could it be?"

For me? HARD.

Should have read up on the quest I guess because the fears came as a surprise.... got the dragon down to 57% over the next five minutes but then he feared me for a fourth or fifth time. Clones got feared right off the edge of the world.

HAHA... good times.

The only reason this didn't frustrate me is because I had spent the last TWO hours trying to complete the damn Simon quests on all five of my toons.

You can outrange the fear but it is tight and different dragons have different abilities. I can almost 2-man those dragons with the pally tank and the priest as long as I can avoid adds. My priest regens mana quicker than used for heals. It will just take a long long time.

You need to prepare yourself beforehand for a very long fight though. The biggest problem I had was getting feared into adds. If one of my crew got feared close to the edge I would reposition them manually far far away. The last one I did on Bashirs Landing did a knockback that was really annoying and even if you clear the area you get respawns before the dragon is dead and with the knockback you can get a few.

For simon, public chat is your friend.

Simonbot: RED YELLOW GREEN GREEN BLUE WHOOPSLAGBLUEBLUEBLUEYELLOWREDOMGHAX

Basically, hit enter, leave chat open; type the first letter of each color; press enter when it's done; voila, instant easy referral.

Eteocles: r y g g b b b b y r omghax

Then I simply refer to chat for my order, I've yet to be zapped with this method.

I use my chat bar too, but I never hit enter - I just use backspace to reclear the box... No reason to let the whole world know how lazy / dumb I am!

That's not a daily though Joe, you do it once for the quest then repeat for the little blue Apexis Crystals(aka Vendor tokens for Ogrila's quartermaster, and Ogrila's vendor gear SUCKS lol)

It is a daily quest you do the big simon says as a group once each of your 5 toons have the quest, and it will finish on all of them once you complete the color sequence and the giant spawns.

The quest is to get the Buff...the big one spawns the giant, the little ones give the buff(I could be wrong and/or it may've been changed but I don't recall the big one buffing you)

It also completes it for anyone who happens to be in the vicinity of you when you complete the central simon says thingy and the rock dude ('http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=11059') comes out.

Horde love to cluster near me when I do the simon game.

As per some wowhead comments ('http://wowhead.com/?quest=11080')

Actually, Bawsderitchy is partially correct. You won't get a quest complete if you are near someone using the smaller crystals. However, if you are near the monument when a *group* is using the larger crystal to summon an apexis guardian, it might happen. ( see http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=11059 ) I say "might" because it appears the group has to successfully complete the entire lighting sequence. I discovered this myself when I was running by a monument as a group finished. They weren't even my faction, but I still received the "Apexis Enlightenment" buff and also a complete for "The Relic's Emanation".

So if I am understanding this correctly... Big simon completes little simon daily for all five guys and summons the giant... but it costs 35 shards.

simon says is so ez.

I assign each side of the cube a number, 1-4. for each one that gets hit, i push the corresponding number into my chat box, then when its over, hit enter. After that I just repeat what my chatbox tells me, clicking the side that corresponds to the number i've just typed. Pretty easy.

YES.

35 shards from 1 guy, but all guys get the complete. if you're 4/5 boxing, just place a clone on each point & click the center with 1 of them.
Easy as pie, & FREE Large Prizzy daily because of the blue crystal thing the rock guy drops being turned in for a cloak at Revered. You also make 15 shards per toon as part of the quest reward, so shards are a non issue.

But it doesn't usually. Last night (this happened to me twice in a row) instead of showing me one light at a time it would show none and then show me THREE lights, I was supposed to then guess which order they were supposed to go into... I guessed wrong.

Also the mod I use (Ogri'lazy) for the simon game seems to have lost it's stability somehow. It would sometimes delete colors from the sequence... randomly. You would never know if the info was correct or not.

Simon was so aggravating last night that I vowed it was on my list of quests I will no long do... until I found out about the big one completing the small one. Now I am back to wanting to do it but am going to go with the typing down the color and hoping I don't get it bugged too many times.

Thanks for the info guys.

I also just assign 1,2,3,4 going clockwise from bottom-left. My 4 clones is in a 2x2 grid on my 2nd monitor so if I position my main between two of the buttons facing towards the center then the 4 buttons are the same configuration as my clone windows. Makes it very easy.

As someone who's grinding Ogrila rep at the moment, I say do the Big Simon, not the little ones.

Yes it costs 35 shards, and as mentioned above gives the buff for whole group which makes it a real time saver.

Also on the Big Simon you only need to go up to 6 colours to get the buff, on the smaller ones you need to go to 8.

Finally the Apexis Guardian that gets summoned at the end drops an Apexis Crystal and a level 70 green (guaranteed). When you get to revered with Ogrila, you can use the Apexis Crystal with 50 Apexis Shards to buy one of the level 70 blues from the Ogrla quartermaster, which you can then DE for a Large Prismatic Shard.

And don't worry about farming the Apexis Shards...you will be swimming in them by the time you get to revered (I have around 750 on each toon atm).

If you're looking for a way to make money there are 4 elite dragons near Ogrila & The Crystal Spine that can be summoned for 35 Apexis Shards each, each one drops a scale that can be looted by everyone in your group. Combine the 4 different scales to get a level 70 BOE blue cloak - Deathwing Brood Cloak ('http://www.wowhead.com/?item=31942'). You can then either DE them for a shard, or sell them on the AH for cash.

I've done the dragons a few more times because of an abundance of apexis shards. I have a pretty easy strategy now. I position my group in one of the farthest corners inside the "lairs". I measure the max healing range by moving my tank till she is out of healing range and then I park the warlock imp at that spot. I engage and judge with Seal of Wisdom (for pally mana) and reposition the dragon at the imp after every fear. I keep max rank consecration up and keep judging Righteousness. I also have fire resistance aura up for all the dragons. Just remember to turn auto-attack on or to judge immediately after a fear to keep your Judgement of Wisdom on the dragon or just re-apply if it fades. Also position the dragon sideways to the group so the pally is in healing range and the dragon is in dps range but the group is still out of fear range.

Using this strategy the fights become really trivial. My group never gets feared and the dragons don't do a lot of damage so I have more than enough time to reposition the dragon after a fear even if my pally gets feared way out of healing range.

Issues I've had with this strategy:
- The pally gets feared into the group and the group gets hit with a tail swipe
This will cause a knockback on your group and you might get adds. You have time though, reposition the dragon, get your healer back in position, get your dps back in position, taunt any adds and the fight continues like before.

- Dragon drops aggro
One of the dragons at Bashirs Landing does a knockback. I haven't figured out when exactly it happens but I think if someone comes too close to the pally in threat the dragon does the knockback and charges the 2nd on aggro. I usually have my hunter's pet on the dragon as well and usually the dragon will knockback the tank and just turn around and beat on the pet. A simple taunt gets it back on the pally. In one fight the pet died and the dragon did a wierd double knockback on the pally putting her way out of range of the group and the dragon managed to kill one of the clones before the pally was in range to taunt. The biggest danger with the knockback is that the group gets charged and then feared scattering them or they get hit with a tailswipe.

So aside from the knockback dragon the fights are really easy if you have extended range talents on your dps and healer.

5 shamans makes the dragons, Apexis Guardians and the other summoned demons cake...

1. Drop totems - healing / fire resist / wrath of air, etc
2. Summon boss & summon elementals (Earth for dragons, Fire for demons, Earth or Fire for Apexis Guardian)
3. Bloodlust & PEW PEW
4. ????
5. Profit

For the dragons, I clear out the mobs around the dragon eggs before summoning. I usually trinket out of the 1st fear and ride out the 2nd one - if the dragon isn't dead by then, it should be very close. Alternatively you can swap one earth ele for a tremor totem.
