Does anyone here have this?
I read on the site that it can operate in "memory resident mode" just like the PS/2 version, but I can't seem to find a whole lot of info on it.
What I'm curious about is if the software doesn't work for some reason, can I still fall back to the x-keys PS/2-like functionalities?

I have a USB stick and a USB Pro, but haven't found a way to activate the "memory resident" mode of either using MacroWorks II.
I should also say that I haven't looked all that hard - at all in fact since I don't actively move the keyboards around - but I'll have a fiddle tonight to see what I can find.

One of my x-keys is USB, and although I have gotten memory resident mode on it before, I'm curious as to why you want to fall back to it. Macroworks and their other utils provide a nice way to customize/edit your buttons.

I can go either USB or PS/2
so I'm trying to weigh the options
If the USB version has all the features of the PS/2 and more,
the choice is relatively simple
So when the USB version is in the "memory resident" mode, does it still require any PC-side software to operate? or is it as transparent as a USB keyboard?

I bought the USB version. And yes, there is an included utility to switch between resident mode and usb mode. And if I remember right, the utility allows you to copy the EEPROM from one x-keys unit to another unit.
I'm at work or I'd include more details. Sorry.
