View Full Version : Diablo 2 Resurrected Multiboxing - does it get any better than this?

Genuine question, does ISBoxer or AHK offer a better mullti-boxing experience - measured perhaps by killing efficiency?

I have a Paladin with (Conviction/Cleansing) Lawbringer Sanctuary and Merc with Meditation + Prayer.
Following an 'Unkillable Abbot' guide, working my way towards high PDR/MDR/Res/Absorbs

Controlling it on laptop using controller, I can move it around 1:1 as I watch it on my main monitor (better than mouse!) - also I have access to potions, merc potions and can change aura and use zeal (decrepify for bosses) - without having to reach for the laptop.

On the PC I have a lightning Trapsin with Shadow Master and freeze aura merc.

Mouse in right hand, controller in left - I can move them independently and simultaneously whilst just looking at my main monitor.

The only trouble is the laptop will just about manage classic mode, loading times can be long. I used ISBoxer for years with WOW and Diablo 3. Mouse broadcasting is typical and using the terrain to regroup, maybe.. but that doesn't sound any better than what I'm doing.

So if you have any better setups, I'd be interested to know! Maybe I'll end up with 4-5 accounts sigh..

(Oh I suspect a decent trapsin with infinity merc will be more streamlined than what I'm doing.. I just can't afford it yet)

Even without being able to see the 'controller account' on the main screen, I can navigate that character using the map!

Trying Summoner on Controller now with enchanter on PC - adding a third account for BO would be nice.

Dell U3217W

Ultrawide curved 34inch 3440x1440 screen

I was about to load up a Barb on the switch to run BO, bought a Nintendo Switch online pass for £14 - then realised as I was loading it up there is no cross-play.. damnit

I copied the D2R Folder, enabled multiple battle.net launchers and used process explorer to stop D2R looking for another instance - and I can load multiple copies on my main PC - so I might go with 3 in total

Control Two at once and used a third account for buffing.

Upgraded to a third account :) shame my switch can't join in...

So I can control two simultaneously quite well and another for buffing and upping player count

This is going to be a tough question to answer, since someone would've had to have experienced it like you did/are, and then switched over to software to be able to give accurate feedback. I see you've since joined the ISBoxer Discord, but all I can do is state the obvious: the main draw to using software is to simply avoid having to run multiple computers sitting side-by-side and eating up desk space and creating clutter, while also getting some additional quality of life features, like ease of window switching and additional hotkeys that can all be adjusted on-the-fly.

I guess I wondered if people were using broadcasting to control multiple characters for any increase efficiency, i know keeping the team together is a pain in the ass due to character collision.

If not, then on one PC, 'boxing' in Diablo seems quite static - alt-tab to buff/mule/reposition character.

If using two PC's you can control two characters simultaneously, and quite adequately as I have found using a controller for the second.

For me Boxing has been about adding a layer of complexity and the reward you get for overcoming those challenges, so I wondered how people had been doing this also - if they haven't maybe I can inspire them to try.

I'm not going by experience D2R alone, people have been boxing Diablo 2 for many years - so thought some might draw on that experience
