I am right now using x3 shammy and x2 shammy. My system is not strong enough to handle a x5 box and i am learning some of the ropes with less toons anyway. I plan to go x5 in the next month or so when i am set up.

I am considering using hunters as well with one priest or healer. My concern with the hunters is how to manage and control melee running in to put an end to your fun. I am thinking also in terms of pvp.

Right now i play a 44 hunter in the 49 bracket and do very, very well. He will go 49 but i am waiting on some mara runs. Using all my cc and movement is key to dealing with rogues, warriors and shammy. Some druids are tuff and know how to play but not many i have met yet. I am not sure how i would manage this kind of movement with x3, x4, or x5 toons just on follow.

What do you multi-boxing hunters do for melee? I know focus fire them coming in, but then what if one or two or three get in?

Some thoughts are:
1. With so many hunters you could lay freezing and frost traps. If they trinket out of an ice trap they will get hit with another one. If you have improved wing clip with many hunters spamming it on you will get a root in no time. Trouble is if it is just one toon you can melee them down as well.

If you have multiple melee run in what does the hunter team do?

/discuss please

personally i would use 5X frost trap, after using formation macro to spread out my characters.

play around with it and get a good feel on how far to leave them spread out for max range.

ALso if you use keyclone, i would put scatter shot on round robin, so you can scatter shot multiple targets in a row.

This should give you a good amount of time to get ahead of them.

I only have hunters up to 12 so far and have never even pvp'd on them yet so this is all theory of course.

Thanks for the reply. One of my problems is that i am using clonekey right now. Mac version. I am getting leopard and a windows xp os tomorrow or next day so i can use the real deal. Getting used to all the real options in keyclone will be a new challenge. Thanks for the advice.

Hey there,

I multibox hunters and I can tell you that so far, they have proven to be the most powerful multiboxing class in BGs so far. 4x hunter 1x healer (I use a priest for fear bomb) and you become unstoppable, above even multiboxed shamans.

With hunters you have extremely fast mobility. You can run in, dump major damage, and run out, fast as can be. Shamans take time to drop totems and such. Warlocks can't AOE as good as hunters.

My tactic in BGs varies based on the situation so let me give you a simple rundown of a few scenarios.

The key here is to spec BM (more later).

Lets say my hunters are attacking a post in AB with 5 people. I will run 4 hunters in and immediately hit my formation key to spread them out and immediately drop 4x freezing traps. I will then pop my bestial wrath/quickshot/trinket and immediately pwn cloth. I can take out 3 cloth guys with my hunters/pets and still have a lot of bestial wrath left over. If a melee gets in my face, the freezing traps will catch them. If they trinket out, then the other trap catches them. If the traps don't catch them then I will use a pet to intimidate stun, and then pull my hunters back, whip them around, then arcane shot/dot, and charge through the guy with 4x raptor strikes.

The key to handling melee is to intimidate stun, run around, arcane shot and viper sting, then run through them with 4x raptor strikes. This single combo alone will take down even well geared paladins/warriors/bear druids.

If I am attacking multiple pure melee class, I will utilize my 4x stuns (intimidate) and freezing traps. Melee really have no chance against me.

As 4x BM hunter, you can easily pwn cloth near instantly. You can do wicked damage to any other hunter extremely fast. Melee also gets pwnd hardcore due to your long list of stuns/slows. The big key is the DPS of your 4x pets. 4x pets will obliterate a rogue in around 6 seconds w/o any hunter damage. 6 seconds per geared rogue, around 3 for a normal rogue.

All in all, 4x BM hunters is amazing.

Also, as 4x hunters you will be the best flag runner in WSG. Imagine trying to chase a group that has 4x frost/freezing traps :)

Right now I am level 65 and I am running BGs like crazy. My goal is to have 100k honor and 100 of each mark at 70. Right now I have about 40k honor and a combined total of about 300 marks per hunter.

I kept score of all my BGs since I was 63, and so far my score is:

EOTS 25 of 25, Yes I have won 100% of my EOTS. Almost every match we 4cap and win 2000 to <500. EOTS is easy because I can storm any area, kill them all, cap it, and storm another. With hunters and EOTS I can easily take on twice my numbers.
AB 19 of 24, I win almost every match UNLESS my team decides to follow my army and not defend. This can turn into quite a big problem that pretty much guarentees a loss. The only way I can combat this is to simply take a node and defend.
WSG 15/26, WSG is a bit harder, however, I just learned a new strategy that has given me 7 wins in a row. I think I can now steamroll WSG with my new tactics :)
AV 19/30, With AV it is more about your team. Horde does a bit better than Alliance it seems.

Also, I should point out that I have faced against a few 4x/5s shaman teams. I can proudly say that I've pwned them all :)

I think that Blizzard only allows you to carry 75k honor at once. You must use it after that.

Oh well, 75k honor will be good still if I have 400 marks :)

I just hope season 4 comes out so I can go right to season 2 PVP gear.

What race do you roll. Just like to hear some more discussion on this. I am thinking of making a hunter team with a priest where the priest can be the same race as the hunters just for style reasons.

Seems like it would work really well with Dwarf. I have a feeling that the Tauren racials are uber sweet. Warstomp + 5% extra health is all you really need. But Tauren can't be priests... could go with a shammy or druid but i have heard that priest is just, well, better than those for straight healing and support. Like you said, fear bomb is the bomb.

Also,

If i was ever leveled enough to try heroics on a hunter team can the pets tank (and die, but succeed) or would you need to go with a pally, priest and x3 hunters?

main thing Ive found in pvp is to make sure to use a big spread macro...that way someone getting close in cant get out of (or into) ranged dps from at least 3 hunters. Focus fire from 4 hunters is nasty btw (and I love 4 snake traps for non aoe classes..not really effective, but sure is fun to watch all those snakes).

hey evilseed what's the names on your hunters so i can look them up on armory?

Mostly curious about spec... especially whether or not I need to take all 4 pet focus talents (the 2/2 100% focus regen, and the 2/2 go for the throat)

Jump + Turn key + Shoot midair + /follow main on landing

It's possible to get this down with some practice, I reckon. oO Not easy though.
