I have been working on my macros continuously updating and fixing. I was wondering if anyone has found a setup with few flaws in terms of main switching, healing with less overhealing, ect.... I keep looking through the forums as I learn for new macros, addons, and specs to improve my setup. It's nice to see how everyone goes about setting things up, but you never know how a certain addon or macro might affect your setup. I know it's a lot to ask for an all in one solution and it might not be obtainable atm.
Currently I use a focus setup. When I login I start a group and focus the leader. If the leader dies I can still use him for targeting, but I can't move as a group with follow from another toon. All healing is single target - either target of target or target. If the target has another friendly target selected the heal will hit target of target.
I'm running 5 shaman 4 elemental 1 resto.
A list of the problems people run into with certain setups and multiboxing in general would be nice.

I have found the following system very convenient and versatile.
I have one macro (on each char) which is used to set focus and partyleader (http://www.dual-boxing.com/wiki/index.php/Macro:Focus_with_modifiers)
The key combinations to change focus are also configured for pip (keyclone) so that that clones window becomes the large on in my environment. This allows me to switch mains on the fly.
For healing aggro management etc, I use an Xkeys Pro. The 2nd row is used for healing macros, with Healing Touch, Regrowth and Rejuventation on each key (with shift, ctrl modifiers) on each key, the difference being the recipient of the spell. On the first I have focustargettarget (the guy getting hit) and the next 5 use the name of the character to be healed in the order tank, healer, DPS1, DPS2, DPS3. I also have an emergency 'All heal focus' macro that can use flash heal, big heal, or Gift of the Naaru depending on the key modifier used.
The only problems I am running into at the moment is learning to tank and heal at the same time while maintaining sufficient DPS that the Druid doesn't go oom... fortunate the shams always go oom first :)

I'm sure that we won't reach a consensus on a single best setup. (Except that it's mine, of course :P) What would you like to improve about yours?
One dark-horse for managing the leader / clone thing is this:
Using action bar pages to free focus. ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&postID=39052&highlight=page+switching#post39052')
It's a little more complicated to set up than a focus-based system, but once you get it going you get all of the benefits plus you can keep focus free for CC or healing.

Yes, I like the trinity bars system.... I am still using focus as I need that flexibility though :)
I just made an ass out of myself ;) I assumed it was the trinity bars target= trick... now I will read your post!
Damn my reversal order post reading system! ;)

I'm sort of lost on how the paging thing works. From what i understand when you click one button it pages another button to press before the one you select. There is one of these paged buttons for each char that changes to a new leader. Everything starts to get fuzzy as to how it works from there on.
Simple explanation is the page button takes the place of the focus?

Yeah, that's pretty much the idea. Instead of focus designating your main, it's set by which button page / assist macro is currently showing.

No, you select the page manually using hotkeys. I use F1-F5. F1 selects my pally Iaggo as main by choosing the first button page which has the "AssistIaggo" macro for everyone *except* Iaggo. F2 makes my 1st shamman (Katator) leader by paging to the 2nd page, which has the "AssistKatator" macro for everyone except Katator. And so on.

eek :S this sounds like so much work tbh :S I'm going to be making a very short vid showing my setup and its functionality when I get some time off. the way I have mine set up is rather straight forward
all the targeting conditions are inserted into the macros under trinitybars2. so much so that my last clone has a macro that reads like this:
/target Mains Clones
Follow:
/target [Šeceased,exsists,nodead] [Kaiya,exsists,nodead] [Shimii,exsists,nodead] [Deceased,exsists,nodead] [Decaesed,exsists,nodead] [Deceasead,exsists,nodead]
/f
Lightnign Bolt:
/target [Šeceased,exsists,nodead] [Kaiya,exsists,nodead] [Shimii,exsists,nodead] [Deceased,exsists,nodead] [Decaesed,exsists,nodead] [Deceasead,exsists,nodead]
/a
/cast Lightning bolt
etc etc..
what do these do? well.. my follow macro makes my clones follow the main I have on my main account, then if he/she were to die all my clones automatically switch to follow my first Clone then if he dies, my second etc etc
same goes for casting. there are no action bar switches to think of, no refocusing, it just works :)
the reason i need to use trinitybars is to cross the 255 limit which i reach with my target conditions alone
I will also be planning a macro assigned to following/assisting or attacking a separate focus target.. this will allow me to command my clones to to assist somebody else if my main were to die and my main priority were to meet up with my clones again (otherwise i would simply fight with my clones until they are all dead :P)
I plan on using this to assign individual focuses for my clones too so that If need be i can perform a multitarget earthshock or mass CC such as Sheep or Fear come my mage or warlock team :)
as for leader switching when in combat and no deaths! which indeed is sometimes needed (thinking of tricking ppl in Arena etc) then you could use the action bar change or a focus change.
for PvE purposes however, my macros are completely stress free (for me at least) :)
