So I want to try and to and make a Pally + 4 Shammy team,

Would this be good for heroics in PVE, like SL and such? or should I got 5 shammies? I'm also looking at 5 Warlocks, or 4 locks and 1 priest

Also I'm confused as to how I can control both the pally and shammies, do I just put the pally keys in and then keep those blank on the shammies and then put the shammy keys in where the pally doesnt have keys?

Anyway of getting this keymap, with the shammie keys to show up on the main screen of the pally? or will i have to get a printout or memorize?

Thanks guys, I'd really like to give this a try once I get somemore free time

Howdy Newbie and welcome to the forums!

with 2 classes, the unique overlap usually isn't too bad. and yes, memorization might help :D

as for keymaps... i believe zanthor is the king of keymaps on the forums. maybe asking him for tips could help.

if you have any other questions, please feel free to drop me a note.

When I first started dual-boxing I used a G15 keyobard. I had 9 keys for controlling my Pally and 9 keys for my Mages (and priest, but that aside). I used a toolbar mod such as Bartender / Trinity to graphically represent they layout of the G15 on screen. In the top 9 keys I had the Pally spells and they worked as any spell in a button would. But for the Mages I simply created blank macros and chose the icon of the spell I wanted to use. So it was a visual representation even though clicking the toolbar did nothing it allowed me to memorise the spell / key locations. After I got used to spamming the same keys 100000 times a day it started getting familiar and I eventually removed the "macros" from the toolbars.

Regards of the use of a G15 keybaord you can apply the visual trick to standard keyboard layout. Eg if you slaves / alts use modifiers such as Ctrl Shift or Alt and use the standard number keys 1 through = you can create a visual bar with all the spells. Sure clicking the spell buttons won't do anything because there is no spell in the macro, but it allows you to "see" and memorise where the spells are when you press a key.

Once you've done it for a few weeks you'll get used to it. Its really simple after a while.

I think I'm gonna go for 5x Shammys for simplicity, plus I've seen them do some pretty nice heroics.

Btw think I can get the dungeon t3 tidefury set on my own? Then I would need a guild to get the T4 set right?

Welcome to the forums Newbie (change the name as time goes on :D).

I run with a pally and 4x shaman.... The shammies are all controlled by keybindings/macros and I run the pally as a normal char, i.e. WASD (or equivalent with my N52), click casting using bongos toolbars etc.

On signon, the pally invites all the shammies, and they auto accept and set the pally to focus, (see the macros section). I have an "assist" button, which is basically /assist focus, and a "Big" button, which is /follow focus. The rest is just spells with modifiers for alt or ctrl (Mouse button 3 or 4 for me).

I can post the full mappings on my N52 if you need it, but you probably have no use for that unless you actually use one, but I have buttons for:

1) All heal the tank
2) Heal whoever is being attacked by current target
3) Heal the shammy lead
4) All shammies LB the target
5) Manatide totem (I should change this to purge really), with manatide on a modifier.
6) Chain heal self on all shammies
7) Shock target (2x Earth, 1x Frost, 1xFlame, with modifiers to do 4x earth if necessary)
8) chain Lightning nuke (various macros posted on other threads, I am pve, so no nature's swiftness, but it does proc the trinket). If trinket is on cooldown, it just does CL.
9) Lightning bolt/heal attacked target. An alternative to 4), when there are lots of mobs on the tank, the resto specced shammy heals while the others nuke
10) Assist lead
11) Totem sequence 1 - Normally my PvE totem sequence
12) Totem sequence 2 - Normally my caster totem sequence (n.b I use 4 different sequences atm, Normal, caster, melee, and Nature resist)
13) Movement button one - alt one moves back, alt two moves left, alt three moves right, alt 4 stays still
14) Movement button two - all alts move back (NB, I press both this and 13) two move diagonally back and two move back (if you see what I mean).
15) A "Big" button, - follow and assist the main.
16) Jump, tab targetting. (I use the scrollwheel on the N52 for this). scroll is tab, push it and it's jump.
-----------------------------------
Other less used (or less required "in an insant") fuctions such as buffing, mounting, fire nova totems, hearthstones, invites and acceptances etc I put on my number pad.

Similarly to Fleecy, I use a graphical representation of my keypad on the alt's game screen to better remember the particular fuctions.

Main screen:

Resto shammy alt screen:

Cheers
