Guide: The Hivemind Mount Walkthrough for Multiboxers

This is a pretty popular request because this mount is essentially the Multiboxing mount. So I went ahead and redid the entire thing! There is a lot of issues I run into actually doing it which I hope helps you in the process. (Example the vendor fish for the red monocles are invisible, how to fix that.) Or (On the Yellow monocle, you didn't input the correct information into the addon, how to fix that without starting over).

? not sure what you mean..do on one team and then on other teams do what?

I’ll be adding the info in the next section of videos. You can unlock the door and then that 5th character that ran through can drop group. Invite 4 other characters and the click on the lost cat toy allowing you to complete on that new group without having to have done any of the monocles. This works well for additional teams you want to add.

I chalk up this mechanic as the same as unlocking a skip in raids to the last boss.

just please don’t sell the shortcut, only use it on your own teams or for other boxers that demonstrate they got the mount once already

Good Stuff! I have done the hive mind quest 3 times no short cuts for 3 separate teams. Wish I knew about this shortcut :-(. This motivates me to make a 4th hive mind team! hope this method doesn't get "adjusted" before then. Thanks guys!

Ok..so i got it done on my paly team. You can do this anytime after you have one team that has done it. In this case my druid team had done the quest. 4 druids havedifferent color monocle. The 5th druid had nothing but you need a full group for the entire last phases. So i logged in the 4 druids that had the monocles and placed them at the mobs they have to fight to open the door ( remove the 4 colored barrier so that 5th toon can run in the room ) I had one of my paladins, in the same slot as the 5th druid who had no monocle, and had him stand at the door. Once he was in I dropped group and logged on the other paladins from my team, grouped up and clicked the pet toy and started the quest from the "pet the kittens" on.

I forgot how much of a pain the puzzles were, but once i figured it out again ( thx to video guides ) It was not bad.. and it will be easy with the next teams! Thanks for the tip!

Thanks Ellay! For the petting.. you can use IWT to pet them.. that way the NPC cant get in the way. you got lucky on your code..low numbers.. i had 88826 so i targetted the cats on 1>2>3 and IWT twice.. once i got that 2nd petting bar moving I switched to 5 and had him quickly target his cat and start petting since he needed 6..when i got to 6 pettings on the 1st three i switched to 4 and had him target and iwt with his cat for the last two pettings ( all others are still IWTing the whole time.) Does that make since? it made it super easy!

It was great to be able to quickly review some parts of your video guide Multidayz, I was doing the skip for my 2nd team and probably would have wasted a bunch of time if I hadn't watched as I didn't remember that I needed the treasure necklaces on every character.

I really had a problem with the disc part. Getting on it right in time. I just copied the position on the map of the toons from your guide, and it worked like a charm.

I just tried the skip steps today (9/25) and the cat toy despawned as soon as the character in the beam room changed groups. Can someone confirm that the skip still works or am I doing something wrongs?
I tried it both having the toon in the room drop group and uninviting members separately and inviting the new ones. Both times as soon as the group members changed the cat toy despawned.

Gonna drop a little secret here for the Yellow monocle. Save some people their sanity.

Do it on 1 character. When you finish the annoying hour long puzzle and the chest appears, you can invite any other characters to your group to come to HoO and loot the chest. You can literally invite and bring every character (i think the minimum level is 83) so they will never have to repeat the puzzle. Just make sure they have the Necklace from Shattrath on them and they will be able to go down an loot it.

Pro-tip: if you are able, do it on a few warlocks and just summon the character that have trouble getting to HoO.

:( Noo! Had to try and see if it was true, and I'm getting the same. It disappears when you form a new group. Ugh.

[EDIT:] Well Psy-Crow and Middas just reported that the cat toy worked for them on a second team, so it looks like it's still working. Must be a glitch or something that can go wrong in the switching of teams. I'll try again tomorrow.

I will also confirm it is still working. I did my last 4 teams this weekend. Dks..DHs..Shams and Hunters. But i did get scared when i tried to do it with my DHs and the toy vanished .. my DH had warmode on! my druids(team with monocles) had it off! After i turned it off and did it again.. it worked.

Well, on my third hivemind group it despawned. I never have warmode on, as i do not play pvp. No idea how to fix it. I had a mixed team which killed the adds, and the healer of the other group in the room. After i carefully changed the group to the group that should have the mount, it desapwned on the 2nd change..

Edit: Well, i discovered, why. I have DynamicBoxer installed, which makes IS1 / WOW1 to invite all party members. The cat figure despawned on that auto invite from my 2nd char. Now it worked.

Thanks to the awesome videos and discussion throughout I successfully completed the Hivemind quest chain tonight. Thanks again Ellay for your videos! A couple notes in case others miss the information:

1. Red monocle do solo. Absolutely get the https://www.wowhead.com/item=54465/vashjir-seahorse from Vashj’ir opening quest chain. I initially did not and regretted it almost immediately. Swimming is just painfully slow when you aren’t on the bottom, plus underwater breathing has to be monitored (unless you were smart and had potions) Because this mount is not account shared if you don’t solo Red Monocle you’ll have to do this on every character. Also the red monocle quest chain takes a bit of gold (~3k?) plus this is a long quest chain!

2. The rest of the monocles no issue doing as a group. Fun and some long but nothing like Red.

3. Petting the kittens use the process that tsincaat (thank you!) mentioned earlier with ISboxer variable keystroke and IWT. Just makes it so easy. Also as a reminder when you get your code from the damage you received clicking the lost cat toy if you have any absorb make sure to add that to the damage!

4. The video series is just excellent. With some of Wowheads steps and images to help it really was a fun quest chain. Remarkable how they solved this, just so many “how on earth” moments.

5. I’m late to the party getting this mount and wish I had taken time when this came out to get it. It really is the ultimate multiboxers mount!

Never mind found my issue with a bit more testing. You have to have everyone set to current time not timewalking. As long as they are set that way you can zone in at level 45.

Hit level 45 with my Shamans, used my Druids to get one of them into the room and they have put a level restriction on clicking the cat toy thing to level 50. Guess I'll get it tomorrow.

Just followed this guide thanks my dude, got my first Hivemind and man that felt like a long trip... Only about 6 more teams to do it on... :-)

I would add Zygor Guide (Blizz dont allowed paid addons so you can find it for free ;-)) has a Hivemind guide and it knows when shared with party which toon is at what step so made life REALLY easy, follow the arrows with a description in a box and a red or green mark for each character on each step, can recommend.

Finally i got my hivemind too, but i found two problems.
First problem was the item behind the rainbow bars. It does damage 9560 damage (max hp at char) and 69599 damage over death. You have to do 9560 + 69599 = 79159 ... this is the working code.
After that use /target catname for the toon infront of the cat. u have only hit the button for "interact with target" if window is active.
It helps me alot to do like this. Write it down. My son read this load so i can click easier:
